    I got about 600 smackers...

I'm no handyman, while I know the saiga is better quality, I have neither the know-how or the means of converting it. Not sure if my "local" range will do it, but I can bet they'll charge a grip for it.

    I got about 600 smackers...

I'm no handy man, I'd rather have something prebuilt for starts. @ paintballdude902 Interesting. I've heard things about CAI, but he put in a good word there. Good find, I'll consider it.

@nonconformist What is the difference between DPMS and say Bushmaster or Olympic Arms (if you have exp. with OA)? @ younganddumb Yeah I looked there, but alot of people are pushing Robinsons that go for thousands. I'm really on a budget, thats why I added a source so I could have some more...

    I got about 600 smackers...

Thanks for the post Chopmeat. I'm taking a look at this rifle, AK MD 75 I've read somewhere that its just another "crappy inaccurate wasr", but then you'll hear every once in a while that they are great guns that get overlooked. I'm looking at this one because it has a scope rail and kvar...

    I got about 600 smackers...

I'm sure you get these every 2 1/2 hours, if you still have the patience, I'll appreciate it. - I'm a rifle newbie. I share a .45 with my father while hes here, but it is essentially his. (I don't get to shoot often). - I know around $600 will certainly get me a wasr, but I've seen too...

    Post-Investigation

Eh, wasn't planning on using a family heirloom, but I would think I would like to keep the average rifle which has a story behind it, becoming a heirloom in itself.

Man thats terrible. I'm in Virginia, relatively gun friendly. They don't even reimburse? What about your ability to purchase another weapon?

    Post-Investigation

I was thinking, in a case of self defense, after all the court proceedings, what happens to your gun? If you end up killing someone, do you get your gun back? Assuming of course your gun is 100% legal. I don't know how those things work.

Good hi-cap rifle under $450 after fees

Well let me clarify I'm not specifically looking for Saigas, a decent hi cap will do. I know rommys or yugos are not the greatest on the shelf but if they work they work. I just want to know a place that won't sell me crap and call it kalashnikov, that will fit in my budget.

Good hi-cap rifle under $450 after fees

So I take it the gun stores around here are crap, considering no one is even mentioning them.

Good hi-cap rifle under $450 after fees

Heh, I don't have a clue how to do something like that, add the fact I'm mechanically retarded.

Good hi-cap rifle under $450 after fees

Who does conversions? I wouldn't mind buying a Saiga if it can be converted, but if it ends up costing more than a mid-ak then I'm a bit weary. Honestly I'd buy a yugo but I heard stories about the corrosion being so bad they sold it. And of course stories about wasr's being bad yada yada...

Good hi-cap rifle under $450 after fees

Last time I went to the show I didn't really find any in my price range. Some underfolders, but they were going for $500... So I'm a little discouraged. Do you know any sites, or gun stores around here that are within my specs?

Good hi-cap rifle under $450 after fees

Someone please point me in the direction of where I can find this. Any recommendations. I am leaning towards the AK tree but I don't know where to find a reliable seller who won't sell me canted, corroded, overpriced crap. Thanks! :)

    Yugo vs. WASR

Hah, I see, the math doesn't lie. Well, since I'm in between jobs right now, I'm going to hold out a little longer until I'm finally hired (homeland security is extremely slow). When I do get the job, I guess I'll be going with the Yugo. It sounds like its worth the wait.
