Simply put...I do not under any circumstances reload for anyone else other than my self...family or friends. I will not shoot anyone else's reloads. Since this foolishness started I would guess to say I have refused over a dozen requests for my reloading 9MM alone for family and friends...some...
A good setup for reloading for what you shoot as well as maintaining a stock of powder, primers and bullets (or the ability to cast your own) is an investment in your shooting future.
It's not as inexpensive as it was even a year ago...it would not be hard to put $600-$800 into a Dillon 550 with...
That top case in GW Staar's post looks like a Makarov fired case...or some other blow back pistol. That case needs to go away! On my .40 S&W cases from a Glock I shove the case through a gutted LEE Factory Crimp die using a .401 bullet punch for sizing my cast bullets...no more bulge. Now if I...
The very first .22 semi automatic....Winchester model 1903. Obsolete cartridge today but IMHO One of the prettiest little rifles ever produced....and John Moses didn't design this one.
Amen on the calipers...you don't have to spend a fortune...a digital readout set from Lowes or Home Depot will suffice. It is important to measure over all length of the loaded round for feeding and pressures. Bullets, primers and most powders are at this time are in short supply and what you...
I've never had issues with any of the Hodgdon "CLAYS" family....Universal Clays, Clays or International Clays. They seem to meter well and don't dam up.
One thing I noticed...the rib still seems soldered to the barrel...not sure that is really any indication on how hot the fire was...still if it were mine I would not bring it back as a shooter.
Question#1 sliding the safety from left to right allows you to select which barrel to discharge first...left or right. This allows you to select different chokes for different situations.
Question #2 www.midwestgunworks.com has a wide selection of Stoeger choke tubes. I can't remember which...
Owned an 85 .38 stainless that was foolproof but heavy...shot thousands of rounds over 10-11 years...still in time and tight and shot well untill the day I traded it to a friend. In his hand it is still on spot....just heavy for a snubby!
When this madness got into full swing a little over three weeks ago I paid a visit to the gun counter at wallmart to check on .22 bulk packs. All sold out and was told by the sales girl that she had no idea about when or how much they would be getting in. I thanked her and made the comment that...
LEE TL 452-230 molds for .45
LEE TL 358-158 molds for .38/.357
Any LEE mold with TL before caliber and weight is a "tumble lube" design with fine lube bands that work well with liquid ALOX bullet lube. These can also be used without sizing just as they drop from the mold. They come in two and...
I forget where I read or heard the response to being paranoid for carrying a gun...went something like this;
You carry a pistol?
Yes I do.
You must really be paranoid!
No...if I was paranoid I would carry a shotgun!
;)
It will work very well on deer size animals. I killed three does and one buck...all 90 to 120 pounds...each one good lung / heart shot...maybe the longest run after being hit was 75 yards. Two almost dropped at the spot. I was using Speer 100 grain soft points at about 2700 fps out of a Model...
