Buy a upper and lower from Rock River Arms. This will save you a BUNCH of money in the excise tax. I love mine :)

sidearm You should check out RANGE-1 in Lillington, NC. It's about 35 min from Raleigh and about 20 min from Ft. Bragg. It has out to 100meter rifle as well as pistol and a "shoot house" , etc...( www.range-1.com for more info) Also: North State shooting Club (Butner, NC)...

iamkris: I didn't mean any disrespect by the emotion on the shotgun. I have removed it. :) As far as #4 buck goes. I have had good results with it patterning in my shotgun and the increased number of pellets .vs 00 Buck is a good mix for me.

For home defense you cannnot beat a 12gauge Shotgun. You have a wide assortment of ammo. ( I use No.4 Buckshot), and barrels. Just the sound of someone racking the slide will scare away most intruders. You can get a Mossberg 500 very cheap.

Ok here goes. I got an assortment of ammo at the gun show. Federal XM193 5.56 Winchester Q3131 5.56 Winchester White Box 40 rnd. .223 55gr Wolf .223 55gr 25 Meters to sight in. Firing seated using improvised rest. Slow fire using 6" black discs as targets. Rapid fire at a M6 Silhouette...

I have shot over 2,000 rounds of Wolf (HPand FMJ) though my Chinese SKS both with the fixed 10rnd magazine and a 30 rnd magazine. I haven't had any problems at all. I also use it in my Bulgarian Makarov.
