    My first high power

Don't bother hann, such behavior is best ignored ;). OP started a thread enthused with his new High Power so folks naturally post encouragement, but when one bit of encouragement verges into the hyperbole, a troll pops right into the fun parade with a rainstorm of...insultingly negative...

The Heckler & Koch P9S: thoughts and observations (pic heavy)

Excellent DF, UR GTG then :D...just didn't want it to go unmentioned in such an otherwise excellent report ;):D.

The Heckler & Koch P9S: thoughts and observations (pic heavy)

Dragonfly: A head's-up before you shoot again; the P9S...like the HK4, contains an "Elastic (Polymer) Buffer" (Part #12) which...with time ;), frequently hardens to such an extent that it yellows, shrinks and becomes very brittle. Failure...cracking/disintegrating, of the buffer can cause...

Help me identify this Browning Hi power

Good accurate info all, in fact the frame...as a completed "part", was accepted in 1950. Based upon the SN, it was also likely a completed pistol in 1950.

    Browning Hi-Power: Educate me, please.

WADR Walt, you weren’t far off with that post at all, the last sentence; “Calling it the FN Browning High Power -- as the article does -- is probably incorrect and certainly misleading.” is what prompted my “correction” in defense of AV’s brief article. If I may though, Wicki is a “flawed”...

    Browning Hi-Power: Educate me, please.

WADR, FN...the manufacturer of the pistol in question, has called their Pistolet Browning Grande Puissance the Browning High Power...in their English language literature, for 80+ years. "FN Browning High Power" certainly IS correct. FWIW, the author of that brief article...Anthony...

    Browning Hi-Power: Educate me, please.

WVsig speaks the truth...he knows of what he speaks . He has provided excellent guidance and has dispelled persistent misunderstandings along the way :D. I agree AN, it certainly can...and it does happen, but your Sport Model might not be the most glaring example of that fact, as it...

    FEG or Firestar Plus

No comment on the Star...had one as a kid, then when Dad got a job we no longer had to use it :p... Just kidding ;):D, I don't have any real experience with any Star...other than limited playing with various Model Bs and the Model B Super...which worked just fine with FMJ :). The FEG on...

Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

Congrats WVsig, glad you were able to come back and get it...hope you got it "right" ;). The added grips sure dress it up . McNugget, if you don't mind, what's the letter Date Code on your MkIII Silver Chrome: 245??XXXXX?

Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

Perhaps it's the lighting ? Actually McNugget's BHP appears to be a regular production factory "Silver Chrome Model"...it's matte HC, FN's produced 'em for 35 years now. The original factory Pachmayr grips have been replaced with faux ivory, but it appears otherwise as it left FN...

Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

Another VERY nice one WVS...I'm jealous :o. I've got 3 lightweights...2 stock and both will remain that way, and one I've just started: 1911 Novaks/Trit Front and matte slide. Thinking hard chrome frame, C&S No-Bite Ring Hammer/Sear set and a cropped FN MkII/MkIII Thumb Safety :D. With...

Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

What happened to what I wrote :banghead:? Anyway...thanks WVS :D. AB really was something, he sure did some innovative stuff ;). The retail front of his shop was downright tiny and his workshop in the back not much bigger ;). And, you are certainly correct re: hammer clearance. DW...

Do we have a Hi-Power Club?

Knew you'd appreciate the BoMars WVS :D The recent DW/BoMar .40 compliments my '86 Behlert/Bomar :D, though the DW is mounted all the way back...as I specified, similar to yours, the Behlert is mounted ever so slightly further forward...
