What "reasonable restrictions" should we accept for full auto

my post was solely in regards to select fire weapons- not sbs, aow's, sbr's, or suppressors (I think removal of the aforementioned with the exception of mg's from the nfa would be a valid argument; or in the alternative imposing only a $5 xfer/making tax on them while keeping them on the...

What "reasonable restrictions" should we accept for full auto

that doesn't make sense to me why would you want to further restrict them? they are already legal, so talking about opening the way to civilian ownership is fruitless, b/c they are already legal- the only issue is that we should be able to purchase weapons made post 1986 what you describe...

What "reasonable restrictions" should we accept for full auto

as far as select fire weapons if new registrations are allowed i don't see a need for any more changes in either direction the nfa is probably the most reasonable restriction on full auto- i don't see a need for anything beyond it it already has a safe storage req in it, in a sense- in that no...

Abrams - Scalia got it wrong

i saw that segment, and i found it surprising even for both msnbc and abrams matthews had @ least made a pretense of a rational discussion w/wayne lapierre and the brady fellow on hardball but i wasn't aware that abrams was such an outright loon (as was the georgetown prof)- simply amazing i...

    Katie Couric gets it right!!!

@ least some of the talking heads can pretend to appear unbiased i was flipping channels and caught a few min of whatever show dan abrams does these days- simply sickening and mindboggling some people just don't get it; & his liberal guest makes me glad i'm not @ georgetown law i can @ least...

    Reciprocityand non resident permits?

in reading the applicable section of the act, i'm flabergasted that it appears the 'ccw exception' only applies in one's home state so how on earth can an indivual actually carry in another state? even with reciprocity, the number of schools is simply staggering (and it's not like the roads...

    Heller: "written in that sitting"?

i'd find it somewhat hard to believe scalia would be writing it, just simply due to the likely increased difficulty of gaining a majortity and perhaps a higher liklihood of having a plurality decision kennedy may be a proper middle ground, though i still fully anticipate stevens dissenting...

Vitter To Introduce Concealed Carry Reciprocity

indeed, this isn't going to happen until there is @ least a modicum of similarity amongst the states some states have higher training reqs and some have none plus then what about may issue states versus shall issue? are those of us in the ~40 or so shall issue states going to suddenly be...

How many rounds do you think I could fit in a .50 cal can?

more power to those of ya who lug around what must be heavy cans... i keep 'em boxed and 7 boxes/350 rds fits nicely in .30 cal ammo cans...good transport and storage size/quantity :)

What guns would you buy as an investment?

I'd say any of the more 'exotic' types that have cropped up post-awb. I'm thinking for example: ps90, fs2000, aug clones, maybe the acr or it's competitors (when/if it's available), and of course m4 type ar's. Certainly not nfa type appreciation but perhaps in line with the AUG or HK9x series.

    handgun for recoil sensitive mother

i'm unaware of a place that rents revolvers nearby unfortunitly, so... you think a k frame would be tolerable? i suppose w/o +p loads...i believe federal has a non +p 110 gr loading that would work

    handgun for recoil sensitive mother

Pleasantly surprised today when my mother expressed an interest in buying a handgun for home defense (and very maybe getting a ccw for late night dog walking). I've taken her shooting a number of times. She has had the best success w/my P228. So with that in mind what should she get...

Is the DC ban on Post 76 handguns legally identical to the Fed ban on post 86 MG's

after listening to the oral arguments, it seems to me that even a ruling in favor of heller won't do anything for 922(o) @ least the impression i got from kennedy was that he would consider the de facto ban reasonable, i don't see the votes to overturn it even under a balancing/reasonableness...

AWB II question about "Restricted Law Enforcement/Govt Use Only"

alot of the leo marked items have the '94 date on them, so manuf's could just mark a new date but then like other said, the ban could also still use the same 94 date and not grandfather the new manuf items both leo and non leo or not grandfather any at all regardless of pre/post 94

U.S. Senator To Make Bid to Allow National Park Visitors to Carry Guns

I would love to see this passed. I reside near a park which has the nearest express way access. It's asinine to have to drive miles around it if I want to carry (w/ccw) or go to the range...IE just driving, not even talking about walking in the park. Wonder if it has a snowball's chance...
