I being in a similar situation age and resource wise to you, would recommend either a mosin variant or ruger 10/22 from my experience
im not entirely sure why some people have posted that 7.62x54R will not save you money but ive found military surplus to be at about 20 cents/round as compared...
Im building a list of guns that i eventually want to buy and of course I decided I had to have at least one AK 47. I was browsing around looking at AK furniture and found some nice synthetic stuff but to my dismay theres just about nothing for Ak's in a digital camo pattern. Anyone find anything...
As has been said look for his interests first
as far as a bolt gun goes though Nagant would probably be better and more cost effective than a Mauser
From what ive heard on THR 8mm surplus is kinda drying up as well and 7.62x54 isnt so much
just look for a good rifle thats in good shape...
well it isnt that its hard to pull the bolt back its the turning the bolt thats so sticky...im not sure whats up with it....but yeah once you get to pulling it back its nice and smoothe
i really cant wait some ammo and shoot the thing
its even shorter than my marlin 336 and i think it would...
I have a MAS 36 Rifle that ive inherited from my grandfather recently
ive cleaned it up and refinished the stock and am pleased to say it looks good and the rifling looks to be in good shape as well :D
a few questions though....
where is a good place to find reloading dies for the 7.5...
Hey all
i just got a mas-36 rifle from my grandpa who has had it sitting in his attic for quite some time
if the numbers on the barrell are what to go by it seems to have been made in 1952
from how it looks compared to pictures ive seen of others of the same rifle the forend has been cut so...
Yesterday was my birthday and i have been wanting a .22 (dont know how we skipped this seeing as we have a mod-19 and a 336 marlin...) for quite some time. I have a good freind who has a dad who almost exclusively uses rugers and of course suggested a 10/22. Hes pretty much the know all for gun...
looks good :)
im waiting to get my own soon, keep going up to our property lease and we can see where theyve beein rooting up young wheat in this feild but theyre never their when we are
im about to get into reloading and i was wondering what everyone thinks about this set (or just this new breech lock system) or if anyone has it. it seemes like its pretty much a beginner set so i was looking into it.
it seems the concensus is that unless your using a rifle style bottlenecked bullet theyre just isnt enough velocity to warrant using a spitzer. because all of the straight walled carteriges use mostly flat point or round nose bullets.
the cartriges like .17 rimfires and .22 hornet and such used...
Im just wondering...why hadnt anyone tried to use spitzers in a revolver?
i mean there must be plenty of use for them with pistol hunters for longer pistol shots....
and i know about the new Leverevolution bullets but those were really designed for the leveraction not for longer range...
could someone explain exactly how it locks up?
i have a revolver but ive never had it do that before and im fairly new to alot of gun concepts particularly on how they can fail...
ohhhh! ok
i had just seen a revolver from taurus that had been chambered for the .17 HMR (or was it mach 2?) so i figured bottleneck would work...im curious to wonder how their overcoming those problems then....
I was recently playing with a .38 spl case that i had lying in my room and wondered....theyve modified calibers for semiautos (like the .357 sig and 380/32 NAA)....why not do that for a revolver cartrige like the 38. or .357 and make a .38/.32 or a .357/.32
this wasnt an idea i was really...
you would think that TEXAS would have OC already it being (as far as im concerned and i live here) the state that is most steeped in history and heritage dealing with guns....
IMHO i think police would like OC better THAN CCW cause they could easily see who has guns on them and who hasnt got any
