anyone ever use it on a gun. i have a 1911 A1 i'd like to refinish and although it sounds good i'm scared the finish will be dull and other than buffing it out, i'm not sure what else could be done to make the bright shine on it. and what should i be concerned about with quality in doing this...

a friend took hi rifle out last week and had a bullet mixed in with his correct size bullets and it was used in the gun. a lead bullet just a little to big . He tried to pound it out using an aluminum cleaning rod from the muzzle end and broke a second piece of aluminum and part of the rod off...
