Taurus Clone??
Some folks might suggest the Taurus clone of the beretta. Minor fit and finish difference and the safety is on the frame for the taurus. Should be a tad lower in price too.
just a thought

Could anyone tell me if the Polish surplus 7.62x54r is of decent quality? I ordered a bunch from AIM and was wondering if I should have picked something else. I have heard good things about the Czech silvertip.
thanks in advance,

Good point
Good call.....I don't really think there is a reason to stay there. I think Team USA needs to take care of a few things at home first. Mainly doing something about our porous southern border before we go galavanting around the world playing law enforcement officer, nation builder...
Building them is fun
I too fix them and build them on the side for a bit o extra money. Tiger is a good place to score parts from. Also Newegg is another good parts vendor. Newegg has excellent customer service if you ever have a problem.

And the point would be............
"If Bush is as dishonest as the libs say he is, why isn't he willing to fake the existence of some WMD in Iraq?"
They already got what every first term administration wanted........a second term. No real point of the dog and pony show now is there.

Question from the mechanically declined??
Just how does one take apart the k31? I haven't really played that much with it but was wondering if someone could help me out with bolt removal and whatnot.
thanks in advance,

HMMM
Not familar with the Ruger but an SKS would be cheaper. It has open sites and whatnot. Not so sure on the left-handed firing. I am left-handed but, and do a lot of things right handed.

I think what he means is that it is pre German Invasion. The invasion of Russia was called Operation Barbarossa. So these rifles in theory would have better productions standards due to the country not being under direct assualt.

Excellent Info
Thank you both for the information. That is pretty neat that the rifle's owner is tagged under the buttplate. I will follow the information on the cleaning. Will report back once they get a bath.

I just picked up a MN 91/30 and a K31 from SOG. The MN 91/30 is a matching numbers 1940 production from the Tula Arsenal. The wood on both rifles seems a bit beat but that is ok for the price. I must say that I am really impressed with the metal quality on both rifles. A minor bit of surface...
CZ FOR ME!!
I will cast my vote for the CZ452. I myself picked up a Trainer model and slapped a 4x Nikon Prostaff on top of it. Not that good of a shot but with that gun I can hit what I aim at so that is a plus. I like my 452 because it is solid, well built, wood and metal Czech goodness...
I get what you are stating, I was just being sarcastic in a not so effective manner on the whole border issue. While the border may not be "extrodinary" at the moment, if left unchecked as is, it could become something "extrodinary."
It is a crazy situation down there along the Gulf Coast...
Interesting.......
If we can use the National Guard to shoot our not very nice citizens who are breaking the law, why can't we use them on the border to shoot some not so legal citizens breaking the law by entering illegally. I am sure there is a rule somewhere that talks about this but if we...
See-thru mounts are available
You can have see-through mounts on the cz452s. I have a 4x Nikon Prostaff on my 452se with the iron sites still intact. The don't require special rings like the CZ centerfires.
