    .40 barrel in an S&W m&pc 9mm

I recently bought an M&P9c and I'm wondering if I can convert to .40 with this gun?

    .357 leverguns: Rossi vs Marlin?

Rossi I bought the Rossi loving the 16" barrel. It would feed 38s pretty well but didn't like the .357s. I tried different ammo...same problem. I returned it to the dealer who sent it to Oklahoma for repair. Came back in three weeks, I could'nt wait to test it. Same problem. Buy the Marlin.

S&W Bodygaurd, the best snubby ever?

Bodyguard I like my model 49. It's an older model, no lock, kind of heavy but that weight helps when firing. The action is smooth and light. I have never had occasion to use the single action feature but I like having it. I also have a centenial model which is new. The action is very heavy...

    Just got a glock 19 (2nd gen)...

Upgrades Forgive me brothers and sisters but I too have fallen into the darkness of the GLOCK. Mine is a 2nd. gen. 19, also. Are there any upgrades, such as gen 3 parts that are necessary to improve function/reliability on the 2nd. gens?

Please help me find my new polymer .40 w/decocker

Fnp40 I have an FNP40. They are relatively inexpensive, holds 14 rounds, and meets most of your criteria. I'm not sure if the slide is stainless, but it is blackened. It has a heavy DA but a pretty fair SA action. I'm very happy with mine.:)

    S&W 431 Problem

I recently bought a model 432 S&W. When I took it to the range, I found that when ejecting the fired cases, the cylinder could be pushed off the ejector rod. There is a nub which is part of the frame and acts as a stop for the cylinder. Apparently the nub on this gun is too small to stop the...

    semi's and arthritis

Arthritis Hi Night, I have had the same problem. I had a Walther P99 which I liked but the slide was too hard to rack. Getting a shell into the weapon for carry was OK but I worried more about a jam in a critical situation. There are options. Colt Mustangs are very easy to rack. Most of the...

    S&W autos

I'm in SW Ohio and have been looking for a decent 6906 Smith with no luck. What has happened to the Smith autos? I see very few on gun show dealer's tables and not many of the older models in showrooms. Their popularity seems to have withered under the onslaught of new styles of semi autos...

Full size or compact? S&W especialy

6906 Hi Malice, I have owned a few of the compacts(6906). They are great for ccw and as an all around pistol. I foolishly let my last one go and I am currently trying to find another one. Police trades have really caused the prices to drop on these guns. Most of the cop guns that I have...

    .32 H&R Magnum

.32 Mag I have owned a few 32 longs over the years and one .32 mag. I like the old Colts and S&Ws in .32 long. A competent gunsmith can ream the chamber to fire .32 mags. I have done this on a limited basis with no harm to the guns. I would not do this with any other brands or non-solid frame...

    Caliber switching

I recently bought a pistol which fires the.32 H&R mag. I had heard that the gun would hold .32 ACP, maybe even shoot them but it would not eject the empties. Well, I had to try it and it will shoot them and it will eject them. At least in my gun. Two advantages to this combo; cheap practice...

    Baby Browning vs Beretta Jetfire

Beretta vs. Browning Hola, We can buy the Beretta 950 for about $200. + - USD. The Beretta holds more rounds than the Browning, can be carried with one in the chamber(although the manual SAYS NO FOR LEGAL REASONS), and is usually very reliable and easy to load the first round. The Beretta...

    Dang It!!!! Walther P 99

Better luck Hi, I had a live round stuck in the chamber of my new P99. After removing the round, I sent the gun off to S&W to have it checked. It came back almost three weeks later with no explaination of what, if anything they found. I called John at S&W but he didn't return my call. I...

    Pocket pistol time

Pocket gun Hi, I would seriously consider the Kahr PM9. The gun is light enough for concealed carry, not unpleasant to shoot and available at most gun stores or shows. On the down side, they're expensive, also you must train yourself to keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire...

    P99 Lockup

Well, I got the gun back but the 'smith wasn't in when I went to the shop. The clerk didn't know what the smith did. I measured some more of the russian ammo and there does seem to be variations in the overall bullet lengths. My bet is the problem is with the ammo. It's going to the S&W...

    P99 Lockup

Re; P99 Thanks again for the good advice. To answer a few questions. I had put 100 rounds of Win white box through the gun about a week ago. I did not clean it afterward. I usually let a new gun go 4 to 500 rounds before cleaning. I think that any quality pistol should be able to handle...

    P99 Lockup

Thanks for the good advice. I pick up the gun from the smith tomorrow. I will find out then what he thinks happened. I measured the fired cases from the ones that fired pre lockup. The cases were in spec. I know better than to use crap ammo in a good gun. It's like guys that get...

    P99 Lockup

My new Walther P99 locked up today at the range. Since it locked with a live round in the chamber, I took it directly to a 'smith. Then I called S&W (Smith and Walther). They are going to look at the gun after it's defused. The shipping is at their expense. The ammo is 115 gr. Brown...

Still don't understand difference between P99 DA/SA, DA Only (P990), and P99 QA

P99 Timmerk, I just bought one and the action is great. It's hard to explain but you really have to try it out. Get to the local gun store or gun show and try it. I like the trigger mechanism better than any glock I have shot. Good luck:)
