I don't think anyone is saying don't carry ammo, I believe most of the sarcastic comments, mine included, are directed at the most extreme cases quoted here. It's all irrelevant though, as while I don't agree with the extreme cases, I'll defend the right of them to carry whatever they want...
Doc2005, are you a LEO? Or do you just carry two guns and spare ammo to the grocery store? A back up weapon and ammo for a LEO I can more than understand, but approaching a situation like running to the store for a loaf of bread like a tactical mission seems...well...you finish that sentence...
gunfight? seriously? How many private citizen gunfights have there been in the past 50 years? Better yet, how many cases have there been where a private citizen needed more than one spare mag? I wonder how woefully unprepared those who only carry snubbie occasionally or a knife feel in this...
The point I'm making is, by that logic, you probably just shouldn't go to the zoo in the first place. Eventually you will have to draw the line with the "what if" hypothetical situations. Again, just my foolish opinion...
This is almost as bad as the "But what if you have a gang of sixteen drug crazed lunatics that can't feel pain because if the magical drugs they are on chasing you wearing body armor and you only have a revolver?" How many crazy hypothetical situations that will likely never happen can we come...

I got to hold a Baby Eagle full size .40S&W the other day with a steel frame. I absolutely loved it. No one rents them around here, but I have heard great things about the way they shoot. My question is what about accessories, specifically a light? Holsters? Any experiences?
I'm about to purchase a Beretta Laramie. When I was a boy I was given a toy top break revolver and I've been obsessed with Schofields ever since. I realize many say that the top break design is weak, and not to use +P loads. A lot of this comes from the poor reproductions offered by Cimmaron...
