    Ruger MKIII 22/45 Problems/Help

Those darn Ruger MK's fight me everytime, even after many years. After I clean it I try to change my mind set from gun cleaning to Rubik Cube'n. Take is as a puzzle piece and relax. Most of the time my problems come from trying to force stuff. :cuss:

Seasoned reloader with egg on his face

Wow. That's a significant overcharge. Must be a stout pistol...

How do you keep track of times brass has been fired?

I don't keep count, just inspect and keep an eye on it. Haven't had any rifle failures on the range. Lucky I guess, but I seem to catch problems before the next reload. I do have an occasional pistol case split, usually on my .357 or .38 +p but no big deal. Toss them upon inspection. Just...

    .380 neck/case thickness

Hey, all. I searched quite a bit, couldn't find an answer. I have been reloading for years now. Lots of calibers, rifle and pistol. Last year started reloading .380. Have had great success. I have found that while expanding the case mouths while resizing approx 10% of my brass will not...

    .38 special w/ Magnum Primer

No problem on a large case like .38 or .357. Rule of thumb is .1 gr less when using magnum primers. I usually don't even worry about it, never a problem. I do not use them on smaller cases like 9mm or .380.

    Is this normal?

I have a 637 with a few hundred down range. It has no wear whatsoever in that area. I tend to shoot hot +p's. Doesn't look good. I'll be interested in the reply from Smith....

How do you grade the S&W 637?

I have a 637 with the crimson trace grips. Hammer is exposed, I am ordering a new hammer and will bob it myself. I have had the gun for about 4 years now. Daily carry. No problems at all, I love it.

Longevity of the RCBS 1500 Chargemaster Combo

I have had mine for a few months now and love it. Have used many different powders and loaded hundreds of pistol and rifle rounds. I sprayed a bit of cleaner on mine while cleaning a pistol and it etched the display window. As stated on a previous post, they won't supply a replacment applique...

    Why does .40 S&W suck?

Load up a good 9mm. Cheaper to load, I like the way 9mm shoots compared to .40. Really wouldn't hesitate to own one, just not my choice if I had one of each to pick from.....

    durability/accuracy of HiPoint 9mm

Bought one for $100. Shot the heck out of it, no problems. Sold it to help fund another pistol. Guy that bought it says it has worked flawlessly. Cheap, ugly, reliable, fairly accurate. Good gun to keep in the truck, you sure don't have to worry about damaging it.

    Hi-Point at the Range

I picked up a cw-9 a few months ago, just because it could be had for $100. Been rock solid and a good shooter. I keep it in my truck safe, it keeps my j-frame company when I can't take my j-frame with me into a store. Decent, ugly, yada yada yada, we all have discussed these before...

Can I use Accurate 3100 for Brit .303?

Hey, all. I just accquired some powders from a guy I know who is moving. Nice selection of powders for rifle and pistol, I'm going to have fun trying them all out. Among them was a pound of Accurate 3100. From what I see, it is mainly for larger magnum rifle loads. The only thing I can...

    Just got into .223

The trick is to have enough stand by loaded so you can still take care of all the zombies while having time to reload. Since the zombie count in my neck of the woods is pretty low I can take the time while watching TV or whatever to do whatever is necessary to reload my .223's and take the care...

    Oh, Henry

So, I have always wanted an Old West Rifleman style rifle. I really just want a decent one to have fun with. What are the thoughts on Henry rifles? I am thinkin of a .357 magnum rifle so I can share my pistol re-loads with it. If that's not recommended, then I would choose a .30-.30. Are the...

    Nikon Prostaff vs. Nikon Buckmaster..

Just my .02- as I don't have one of each to compare- but I have a Prostaff on my AR and really like it. Holds zero, great, bright picture. Great for the money.

    Ideas for destroying live rounds?

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I thought this one made sense- so I tried it first. No need to go on. Works great. Thanks, Cypress. Thanks again, THR members!!

    Ideas for destroying live rounds?

Ok. Here's the deal. First of all, I know some of you will tell me how dumb I was to try it, yada yada and so on. I know, I know- please don't. Anyway, after reloading about a thousand .223 rounds, I found that the brass didn't resize correctly and wouldn't chamber. I have since corrected...

    .223 case resizing

Sorry, but wrong. Like I said, all I had was the small base die which has a fixed shoulder length. :banghead: Nothing to set up, other than the decapping pin, wrong or right. The problem was, I didn't have the correct dies to allow me to size further down the base. Either way, it's ok now.:)
