Got my first rifle, need some help, please.

Midway and Natchez seem to always have "specials" on old model Simmons scopes in either the White-tail Classic or 44 Mag. I've had a couple of Whitetail Classics and they seem like a good value. I don't know about mounts for a Saiga.

Looking for a budget Tactical Rifle to shoot SUB MOA

Remington LTR My LTR in .308 has been sub-moa from day one with factory Blackhills and my current handloads. I added an Eagle cheekpiece to raise my head to get a good view through my Bushnell 3200 10 x 42. The stock trigger is adjustable to 2# with no reliability problems. I tried a...

Sierra 52 and 69s Both of these bullets shoot very well from my either 1:8 or 1:9 barrels. I am sub MOA with either . You can buy the equivalent from Black Hills as a relaod in their Blue Box line. If any relaoders are interested, 25.2 Varget under the 69 and 25.5 Benchmark under the 52.

    Benelli Super 90

I shoot a Benelli in 3-gun and tactical shotgun matches. My usual starting configuration is a full 8 round magazine and one in the chamber. I always have two shells in a carrier at the ejection port. I also have an 8 round side saddle. I rarely load this to capacity as I reload off my belt...

    Ar Reciever: Which and Why?

Bushmaster works I've used a variety of uppers, some factory, some my creation, but always on Bushmaster lowers. I've never had any problem with a BM lower and my total shooting has to be at least 15,000 rounds over the two lowers I used.

    9 X 23 Question?

More 9 x 23 Info My wife and I have been shooting CP/Winchester 9 x 23 for over ten years. Her gun was built as a Steel gun and mine was built as an IPSC Open gun. Both built by EGW. At the time we went this direction, the 9 x 23 was considered a better feeder in double stack mags as they...

    sako 7mm rem mag

    Assuming that you really meant VX-III, that should be a decent combo. I'm happy with a Vari-X-III 1.75 - 6 x 36 on a Cooper 7mm-08.

    barska scopes???

My LTR wears a Bushnell Elite 3200 10 x 40. You get Mil Dot and Target Knobs. The glass is good and I've had no problems with reliablity. I got mine from Natchez, SWFA also carries them, both under $200.

    30'06 ballistics question

If you want to shoot at 200 yards, zero at 200 yards. there are too many variables to expect a 25 yd zero to be good at 200 yards. Issues such as scope height above bore, the actual ballistics of your load. I zero at 200 and make corrections for shorter yardage.

Can a Rem700BDL be conveted to take a magazine?

H-S Precision makes a detachable mag for the 700. I converted my LTR which had a BDL style mag to the H-S unit. It required minor fitting to the stock around the mag well. It works great. 5 and 10 round mags are available.

    7mm rem vs 30-06

7mm Mag vrs 308 at distance I friend has a Win Model 70 in 7mm Mag and I have a Remington 700 LTR Model in .308. We have shot long distance together at the range and there is little difference when at 500-600 yards. The .308 was a little better probably because I was shooting a better bullet...

Cooper Firearms of Montana PROS & CONS?

I bought a Cooper Model 22 in 7mm-08 last year. It was the only one I could find in Eastern PA. The test target that came with the rifle was a .09" 3 shot group. They identify the bullet and powder used on the test target. You have to figure out the charge weight. I'm getting 3/4" 5 shot...

What to look for when buying an Ar

You can't go wrong with Bushmaster if you want a chrome lined barrel, chrome lined is thought to be less acurate but longer lasting. I have switched to normal barrels and am getting 3-4000 rounds with no loss of accuracy. Armalite, Rock River, and DPMS all make servicable rifles. Most come...

Which Reflex Or Red Dot Sight For My Browning Buckmark Sporter Rifle?

Of the links you provided, I'd go with the Ultra-dot. IMHO BSA is junk. You might also consider the Millet 3 moa which is about $100 at Natchez. The Leupold/Gilmore 1 moa scope would also be a consideration.

I clean my chambers occasionally. I don't think it is nearly as important on a shotgun as on a pistol. Can't hurt and doesn't take much time.

Rifle range near Delaware county PA

I don't know of any public rifle ranges in Delaware county but if you will travel a little, there are many gun clubs in SE PA with rifle ranges. Closest is probably Lower Providence near the Oaks exit of 422 (pricey). Others might include Southern Chester County Sportsman club, Atglen near...

WD-40 and the gas tube on an AR

I've probably put about 10,000 rounds through my two AR uppers. I've never cleaned the gas tube. I do run a pipe cleaner through the gas system of the bolt when I do a complete clean which is about every 200-300 rounds. I clean the barrel after every session as I find my shooting tends to...
