tax return ruger lcp or kel-tec pf9

Bought the lcp a couple of weeks ago..for a small pocket auto it is very well made. Mine is the 2nd generation, so a problem with peening on the frame has been corrected. Put about 100 rounds of good old Winchester white box 95 FMJ's through it without a single failure of any kind. Accuracy...

Milt Sparks VM2 - Cowhide or Horsehide?

I also own both...the horsehide is a little stiffer and is taking a little longer to break in. Not all of the cowhide sparks holsters have horsehide backing...that's a special order item. As far as the clips, they are a small investment compared to the cost of the holster, and they do offer...

    Which Handgun For School?

Dad used to say "Dance with the one that brung you". .45 in steel frame 1911 shouldn't be that bad, but then I am partial to them.

    New Gun, What IWB Holster?

Gotta go with the Versa Max II...absolutely the most comfortable IWB holster ever made. I sometimes forget I'm wearing mine........

    IWB Holsters for full-size M&P?

I think Milt Sparks makes his Versa Max II for your pistol. I have one for full sized Kimber 1911 style. I've tried about 20 others, and this one is by far the most comfortable. Just about disappears even under a light shirt, and the design destributes the weight over a long section of the...

The St Louis City Police redo the 9mm v. 40 debate.

20 years in a squad car and never once felt under-gunned with a 1911 and a Remington 870 12.....call me old fashioned:-)

What gun is in your nightstand?

Kimber Ultra CDP II .45ACP w/night sights and hand held Surefire light, 2 extra mags with Federal Hydra-shocks..loaded, cocked and locked, and ready to go. But I have no kids in the house, so feel safe doing this. Also Kimber Custom II .45 and Star Firestar .40S&W in dresser drawer w/in reach...

The job interview seemed to go well until I busted out the AR15

Kind of along the same lines..In my police uniform, carrying a cocked and locked 1911, I was approached by a concerned citizen..."Do you know your gun is cocked?" "Yes, sir." "Well, isn't that awfully dangerous?" "Isn't it supposed to be?"

I'm Al, from the frozen tundra of Northern Minnesota. I was raised in a hunting household, so have been around guns for as long as I can remember. Mostly rifles and shotguns, but got my first Ruger .22 pistol at the ripe old age of about twelve. I am a retired L.E. officer, so have been...

    Minor Range Accident

Polycarbonate ATV goggles also are an option. Elastic band around the back of the head and cushioned all the way around the eyes....just a thought!!

A note on Calibers from Larry Seacamp

This is an argument that is nearly as old as handguns themselves, and will probably continue as long as they exist. As a young rookie police officer I was issued an old Colt .38 that I carried until I could afford a new Ruger .357 mag. I carried that until I went to a department that allowed...
