    Sig Trailside

Trailside Mine works well, no feeding problems provided the mag is loaded properly. The mags suck and unless you check carefully there is a tendency for the rounds to nosedive in the mag.

Help me pick a HD shotgun..Thanks

Mossy Gets My Vote I have several shotguns but for "cost effectiveness" the Mossberg 590 is hard to beat.

Well.... I guess the pic was too big. Let's try again.

    Just Wanted to Share...

My most recent addition to the arsenal. Two hundred rounds last week with nary a FTF or FTE. Beginning to look like a keeper.

    Cz40b?

CZ40B I picked one up at a local gun show. I like CZ pistols and, even though I don't own one at the moment, feel that they're probably the best deal going. The CZ40B functioned flawlessly, after all it is modified only slightly from the 75B. I just didn't (and still don't) like the .40S&W...

Ithaca 37 pump shotguns - I just bought two

Ithaca M37 I carried one for quite a while when Unlce sent me on an extended trip to the orient. Never encountered a problem as long as it was maintained. Pretty intimidating when used with full length brass 00B.

Has anybody had a bad Red Dot sight?

Bad Red Dots? I've used red dots for years, from the cheapest BSA's to the Leupolds. I've never had one go bad. I have a Simmons mounted on an Oly PCR2 now and it's a blast to shoot. No worry about eye relief, just put the dot on the target and squeeze.

    Rifle Shooting in NE Ohio

Well, I'm a long time handgun shooter who has, in the last year or so, developed an interest in rifle shooting. I have purchased a couple, mounted scopes, and (more or less) sighted them in on the local 25 yd. indoor range. Now I need some place to practice. I've heard of a couple of ranges...

    Info for a friend

He inherited a few long guns from a relative. One is a single shot shotgun in 12 ga., marked "Excel" and "E889XG". The other is a Marlin .22 single shot bolt action with plunger. He says it has no other markings except "22S & LR". Any help is appreciated.

    Tactical Schmactical

Tactical? Obviously mostly marketing BS intended to hook the more gullible (young) guys. I could dip myself in flat black paint and hide in a coal mine at midnight and a vision-impaired senior citizen could find me. That's the disadvantage of being middle aged and overweight! Still, I have a...

    Misconceptions of Military Service

Misconceptions.... Sorta the same thing, when I tell people I was in the Navy during Vietnam they immediately think I spent my time riding a haze gray ship. When I (seldom) try to explain that I was in the Seabees and spent three tours in northern I Corps building roads, bridges, air strips...

    Good Books, Good Authors

Good Books I love Heinlein, but have read and re-read them so many times I need a break. Just about anything by Asimov, especially his robot novels. And who can forget W.E.B. Griffin? His books are good reading (but everyone's rich. I find that disconcerting). A relatively recent addition...

Anyone Else get Rifle for Xmas?

Christmas Present A used Ruger K77VT MKII in .308 Win. Good shape and a fair price.

    What's your favorite rifle cartridge..?

Favorite Rifle Cartridge? My vote goes to the .223 Rem, followed by the .308 Win. With those two calibers you can do most anything you wish. Merry Christmas.
