Any timeframe on when the 92 version will be available. I'm interested in that one for sure. For what it's worth I did see a 1911 version at Sprortsman's Warehouse already. Saw it there before I ever saw it online!
Another thing to think about concerning your draw is your position. You may be crouching behind cover or seated at a table that you can't easily push away from. It's one thing that worries me about pocket carry, although I frequently pocket a Jframe.
Ah yes, i had read about that here and at the smith-wessonforum.
So it is marked:
M586-1, is that the M you are talking about or is that just model? Would it be a separate marking?
I don't see this thread as "old=prey" either. For instance, I am 33yo and have two sons, 4yo and 2yo. If I am in the Wally World parking lot with the 2yo on my hip and my other hand holding my 4yo's hand and a grocery bag somewhere too then I am easier prey. Hopefully I never regret not getting...
So my wife conspired with my dad and went to our LGS and bought me the
66-2 he and I saw a few days before the weekend. Not a blemish except for an idiot mark on the screw underneath the grips. Just need some wood grips now. According to this site it was made 1982. Now I have to go to spin...
Man u guys are making me antsy! I am saving for my first 1911, and I want it to be Commander-sized. Can't make up my mind as to manufacturer though! Those stock Colts look pretty sweet.
I will probably just get another used 65. I would carry the one I have but my father carried it plainclothes so there is too much nostalgia for me
Thanks for the insight Fuff. I respect your opinion and enjoy your posts.
Ask what a perfect revolver is in many opinions and you'll be told the Kframe in 357. I love my 3 inch model 65 and would love to have a modern one to go with it.
So why does S&W not make any new models of the Kframe? Make it aluminum frame or scandium and finish it in melonite , whatever. And...
The best purchase I ever made was my S&W jframe, my 442. Best decision I ever made. I wear baggy cargo shorts in the summer and I buy ones with deep hip pockets. It's with me always. I have a 3 inch model 65 also, but I can't carry it often in hot weather. I will own other handguns but will...
I bought my 442 new in 2008 for about 450$ if I remember correctly. At budsgunshop.com they have them for around 360$
For such a quality firearm that is a great price. I have bought some lemons in my time but that 442 is the best decision i ever made. Its with me nearly everyday.
I pocket carry a S&W 442 almost everyday and I have owned a small .380 that I pocketed. I really liked how thin and light the .380 was but the only concern that I had was where I found it in my hand when i practiced drawing quickly. I always grabbed it too high, where i was afraid it would...
I love my Model 10. 4inch barrel. It was made in 1974 and is marked MPD(Memphis) on the backstrap. I use it for home defense, loaded with Speer Gold Dots 135grain +P. Its very soft-shooting and accurate.
THanks ClemY. I had never seen that model.
Actually tho, this is what I was thinking of:
