Front cocking serrations, revisited -- be honest

I hate FCS with a passion that cannot be measured or fathomed by the minds of men. And I don't like them either.

It looks like Tikkaperformance.com has all the parts you need.

    Tikka Magazines

I wonder if this is a part that can be swapped out? Can you buy a Tikka bolt stop for a long action round that will fit?

    Tikka Magazines

So I just bought a Tikka T3X Lite Stainless in 7mm-08. I have noticed that the magazine that came with the rifle will only allow a standard COL round to be loaded, even though the rifle has a long action. The magazine has a spacer built into the rear of it which limits the OAL of the round...

    Shield 40 or xds 45

I wouldn't have a gun that small in .40. I have an xds .45. It's not hard to shoot at all. 9mm would be fine too. But .40 recoils more than .45 and has little to no advantage over a 9mm....so 9 or 45 for me. But then again, I despise the .40 in general for it's very snappy recoil...

25 ACP and 32 ACP noise report question

They might still be alive, just dying a slow death by gang green at this point. Tongue in cheek of course, but I really don't care if I kill the bad guy. I want to stop him. And for stopping him, I don't want a mousegun. I'm just not going to feel very comfortable pulling out a .25act...

    Shot the Glock 42 yesterday

It's too big for .380. Should have been a 9mm. The size could have stayed the same. There just isn't any point to it.

    Shotgun vs. AR15

Dude, I carry an AR. I could carry a shotgun if I wanted to, but I don't. I'm not disparaging the AR. At all. The poor OP had a question about effectiveness. I simply meant to assure him that a shotgun is a fine defense weapon. You don't have to go out and spend $1500 on a...

    Shotgun vs. AR15

Are you still trying to insinuate that a 5.56 round is the equal of 00 Buck? Given the choice of taking one round of 5.56 COM at 10ft vs a round of 00 Buck you would choose the 5.56? Let's just drop this. The 5.56 is the KING of self defense. Nothing else can touch it. The AR is the...

    Shotgun vs. AR15

I said 00 buck was more destructive than a 5.56 round. You said incorrect. No one said anything about multiple rounds. Obviously an AR has the advantage of more rounds and faster shots. That's not the point. A blast of 00 will do significantly more damage than a 5.56. And I...

    Shotgun vs. AR15

Incorrect. Round for round, at close range, a 5.56 couldn't compete with a dose of 00 buck in a wet dream. If you believe otherwise that's fine. I just want to be sure who to ignore. And yes, 00 buck will penetrate like a pistol round. Exactly what your drawing suggests. Jeez, some...

    Shotgun vs. AR15

If you can only practice with the shotgun, get the shotgun. The AR has certain advantages, and it is quite effective, but a blast of 12g 00 Buck from 10ft.....the AR can't even compete with the kind of damage that will dish out. Just be aware that it will also penetrate like a pistol.

Beretta 92 FS, Any reason not to buy ?

Wonderful shooters. The safety is what keeps one out of my hand. Such a stupid place for it. They really do need to go back to the putting it on the frame where it belongs.

Doesn't the military use pistol grips on 870

I much prefer a standard stock. I find the pistol grip configuration to be much slower to shoulder, manipulate, and shoot. Just a negative in every way. Some folks will say that it's harder for someone to grab it out of your hands if it has a pistol grip. I don't believe that to...

    XD-s: Single stack=hard smack

I have an xds. I haven't shot more than 50 rounds thru it at a time, but no problems at all. It recoils a lot less than I first expected it to. No bleeding hands. No soreness afterwards. Perhaps you got one with a defect in the checkering.

    125gr 10mm?

In factory .357 loads, yes. When hand loaded to the .357's full potential, no. And since we're talking handloads already, what's the point?

Is the .480 Ruger dead or on life support?

That's only true as of the last year or two, and most of those are special dealers exclusives, which means Ruger only made them because Lipsey's, Davidsons, etc agreed to buy so many of them up front. They should have been making things like Bisley Blackhawks in all barrel lengths for years...

Is the .480 Ruger dead or on life support?

I wish they would make a Blackhawk in .480. Ruger has never known what the public wants. It's almost like they don't want to make money. They wouldn't be able to keep a .480 Blackhawk in the shelves. I have no interest in a .454. Too much bark and bluster just to shoot a .45cal...

    .45lc vs .44mag ruger blackhawk

Argh. Trying to find a decent WFN bullet mold from the big makers is next to impossible. As popular as that style is, no one seems to want to offer one. ????? At least not with a plain base. I guess I'll just have to go the custom route. Mountain Molds or NEI.
