Need a little help: H4350 and 6.5 CM

Not casting stones at anyone. I asked a simple question. We all agree he was wrong to use his old load in a new rifle. Can we simply address the question i asked?? RMD

Need a little help: H4350 and 6.5 CM

Thanks for your replies. I agree that he should not have run to the range with a new rifle and old loads. However, I am also interested in what happened in the original rifle. I agree that you should not be able to blow a chamber with a case full of H4350, certain not at 43Gr under a 130...

Need a little help: H4350 and 6.5 CM

I checked the recall stickie and didn't see any H4350 listed. A good friend with whom I have shot precision rifle and PRS for several years is having some pretty bad issues with his loads. Now, he is an experienced reloader and recently had a rifle blow on him with a hand load. He bought a new...

    Mossberg MVP 5.56 bolt design

I too have the 5.56 Predator model. It seems fine, but do not expect Remington Or Winchester smooth bolt action. There is a "hitch" when the bolt picks up the cartridge. My barrel coppered badly until I ran a Tubbs final finish series thru it. It is fine now. Handy field rifle. RMD

    Rifle case lubes

You're going to laugh, but I use PAM non-stick spray. 25-30 cases in a Ziploc bag, a couple of good sprays, tumble them around a bit and set them out and let them dry. 6.5CM, 308, 5.56. Works every time and if I run out, I know where the kitchen is. Tumble it off in crushed walnut shells. RMD

    handload

" I also bought some Wolf, and more recently, Tula LR primers, as they were being touted as being very good, but have not tried them yet." I bought the last 10K of Wolf LRP and SRP I could find now that dear leader has cut off the supply. PRIMER TEST 6/5/2015 82 deg/72% WOLF CCI REM...

    Should I buy an R51?

I read a report on another forum from a guy who, knowing the history of gen 1, bought a gen 2, ran about 120 rounds thru it the day he got it without issue. Said it was very soft shooting even with +P stuff. One is anecdotal, but there will be other risk-takers who come along. RMD

    Got to the range today

Beautiful wheel guns. I need to ask about trimming. I don't load for revolvers, only autoloaders. Is it a common practice to trim brass when loading for revolvers? Never do I trim for anything but precision rifle and I'm curious about trimming for a revolver load. Thanks, RMD

    CFE Pistol (dirty / spitting)?

I agree with lethal. 4.5 Gr under a LRN 124 9MM is snappy. Not harsh, just snappy. RMD

    Powder Suggestions: MBC Coated Bullets

CFE P 4.6Gr behind a 124 Gr MBC LRN works fine for me. Soft shooting and clean. RMD

Information content in a single 3-round group?

Three round groups represent luck, five rounds groups represent a good idea, ten round groups represent the truth. About the load, the gun, and the shooter. RMD

    First aid for range

rjriveta is dead on. I just put togther a blow out kit for a state championship match and included two CAT tournaquets, a Soft-T tournaquet and a SWAT tournaquet plus two vented chest dressings, two Israeli bandages and an assortment of other supplies. We put standard boo-boo first aid kits...

    Opinions on current Norma brass

The problem I had with Norma 308 brass was just the opposite. Impossible to seat any primer other than Remington's with a hand primer. Very tight primer pockets. I have only a couple of firings on them so far. RMD

    7.62x51 nato reloading

I recently shot a friend's Bushmaster with this scope. The eye relief and exit pupil were horrible at high mag. Look it over carefully before you buy. RMD

Thoughts on the Mossberg MVP Patrol in 5.56

I have the original Predator version (18" fluted barrel), laminate stock. The bolt is not terribly smooth, but reliable. Mine will consistently do 0.5 MOA with handloads (seems to like lighter 50,52, 55 Gr bullets). All in all, not a bad little rifle for the money. A field gun rather than...

    Odd rifle at dunhams sports.

They kick like a mule. Mostly because of the steel base plate on the stock. RMD

New CFE Pistol powder......I hope this stuff works.

Works fine. A bit snappier than WST in 9mm and 45ACP. RMD
