Can you shoot 22 LR out of a revolver chambered for 22 mag?

I believe Aguila also loads the .22 WRF.

    revolver dilemma

Buy the 617. When you get around to buying the 686, it will be like shooting the same gun, just with more recoil. (Although personally, I'd buy a 17 and a 19...oh wait, I already did. :D )

    ruger question

The grip frame on the blackhawk is aluminum, EXCEPT on stainless steel guns. I have no idea on the SBH because I don't own one.

Saw this in the pawnshop for $150 - would you buy?

I paid $150 out the door for my last Magnum Wingmaster in good shape. Paid ~$240 OTD for my like new 20 gauge LC Magnum Wingmaster. Paid ~$90 OTD for my rough 16 gauge Wingmaster. Not hard to find them cheap and in good shape around here(though $125 IS less than they normally go for)

S&W Revolver: Locking Bolt/Extractor Rod Problem

No, S&W won't work on anything older than xxx date. The information is on their website IIRC.

S&W Revolver: Locking Bolt/Extractor Rod Problem

I would agree that not many gunsmiths will have the equipment to check the frame or barrel for straightness, but the yoke is another matter. The tool is $50 and readily available. A nylon wedge is $15 or so IIRC, or one can be made using hardwood(or nylon if you have a block of it). Checking...

Help needed indentifying older S&W CTG.

For the question above: Military and Police Model of 1905 most likely.

    Dad's J Frame is home - S&W service question

The guys over on the S&W forum use a place called Fords. I haven't dealt with them. Ask over there for more info. http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve Refinishing a gun generally doesn't do much for the value.

NOT a revolver fan yet, BUT have a problem.

*Shakes head* A lightweight J frame is about the worst choice to put a new shooter's hands. It's small(more recoil), hard to grip, hard to aim, and certainly doesn't have the best trigger. None of those help to hit the target. The primary use won't be carry, so there isn't any need for a small...

    44 Mag/45 colt= Dying breed?

I really doubt either one will go away any time soon. The .45 Colt was brought back by cowboy action shooters. The .44 mag is realistically about the upper limit on what most folks can tolerate with regard to recoil. .44 Mag ammo is generally stocked just about everywhere, .45 Colt not so much.

Are these STS loads okay for quail and dove?

typical pattern spread is once inch per yard. Ten yards would mean a 10" pattern. At ten feet, the pattern won't be much larger than the diameter of the shot charge when it left the barrel. A 12 gauge loaded with birdshot will remove flesh and bone at that distance. Farther out, nope.

    SP01 Shadow

My regular SP01 did not come with a loader? Maybe I should look into buying a shadow. Do they come with a safety or are they decock only?

Did you get a new handgun for Christmas?

So, um, did you come by that screen name naturally? :neener: I found a Colt 1903 in a pawn shop a few days ago. Made in 1928 and still easily will put all eight on a man size target at ~40 yards. :D

    Anyone do new years shooting?

Yep, several of us on another forum got together at a local range today and burned some ammo. Lots of full auto stuff, suppressors, a barrett 50, and at least one SBS. I shot a full auto AK today. :D

    Whats your take on Jimenez

LOL.... Several guys at the small shop where I work got conned into buying Jiminez 9mm's. I know one of those guns wouldn't fire 2 consecutive shots without jamming. They're junk. High point on the other hand, is actually reliable from what I hear and my wife's stepmom's 9mm has never jammed...

Just out of curiosity...why are guns so expensive...

Come work in a machine shop, stamping shop, or molding shop. Some manufacturers prices are ludicrous, others are pretty reasonable. IMO, the ludicrous prices exist because people drink XXX flavor koolaid.

This is absolutely false. If you had inserted the word "readily" I would agree. Got any machinist friends? We make stuff. :D
