Try this: With the pistol dry, get your wife's plastic pan scrubbers ( the colored plastic 3"squares). Just open the cyclinder and rub with the dry pad on the dry pistol. It should all come clean very fast.
When all of the carbon is gone clean the rest as you normally would.
If it is...
I finally ran out of Alox/beeswax mix in my bullet resizer and sent my wife to the local gunshop for a refill. She came back with Alox liquid in a bottle. I just tried some and it is drying overnight as I type this.
I am loading 200 gr .45's LSWC's right now and it seems as if I get more...
I only have one "highpower" rifle and it is chambered in .308. The military uses it. The police use it. Hunters use it. You use it and you will be satisfied. Mine will put junk ammo into 1 inch holes at 100 yds.
The .357 uses 125 grains at 1250 to 1450 and the .308 uses 150 grains at roughly...
I've got a 4" in which I shoot mostly lead wadcutters. I load them on the hot side and the Ruger handles very well. It is also very accurate. Every now and them I shoot .357's in it for yucks and brace for the recoil and find that it is always much less in this revolver than in my Smiths.

I have a 16" barrel .357 Winchester and a 20" barrel .44 Winchester. I like both of them. If I had to choose one, I would probably combine the two and buy a 20" barrel 357.
It's hard to go wrong here. I'm sure you will enjoy either. They both offer lots of different loads for almost any use.
I practice with either a Ruger GP100 or a Smith Mod 66, but on the rare occassion that I carry it is a Mod 60 in .38 with a 3 inch barrel. They are easy to handle, accurate, and light. Go for it.
I'm heading out to the White Mountains in NH next week and thought that I would like to bring along a .38. Is it legal in National Forest Lands? Yes, I am licensed to carry in NH.
I have a Smith Mod 66 with a very sweet trigger, but last year I bought a Ruger 4" SS GP100. I put in 10lb wolff springs and it now has a great trigger, is accurate, and looks goooood! Get your own!
Thanks for the help guys. I have to tell you, that I replaced the GP100 springs with the 10lb springs from Wolff and it made a great difference. I took the gun to the range yesterday with some 38 wadcutter and a couple types of .357 stuff.
Shooting double action I was able to make 1 1/2 inch...
I bought the wolff spring set for my Ruger gp100. The hammer return spring is easy to replace. My question is where do you begin to remove the trigger in order to gain access to the return spring?
A 3" Mod 60 stainless in 38 spl. with a fast bevel base wadcutter (handloaded). I carry it in an inside the waistband holster. No safety, no weight, knockdown power, and a rubber clip in my back pocket.
Downside, 5 shots. Upside, don't need "em all.
