    Mouse Gun thread

I have no pictures ready, but I also like mousers. Started with my J-22 back in 1987. Others I currently own include the LWS-32 that started this thread, an Italian Beretta 950B Jetfire (no safety), Beretta 21A Bobcat (.22LR), Phoenix HP22A, Taurus PT22, Taurus PT25 (two of these), Kel-Tec P32...

Anyone got the Dimensions of the Charter Arms Off Duty Undercoverette .32 h&r revolver?

The Charter Undercovers/Undercoverettes are just a tick slimmer in the cylinder than a J-frame, looser in my holsters than the Js are. The shrouded barrels on the Charters are 0.13" longer, at a full two inches. My Off Duty, a lightweight .38, with an unloaded weight of around 12 ounces, drops...

    Taurus 94 lr (1986)

Bought one in 1989 for the then-wife to stow bedside when I worked nights (one month out of every three.) It shot well and seemed pretty solid. I let her take it when we divorced several years later. Bought a new one in 2014. It shoots remarkable well to point of aim and feels good in hand...

Won a Taurus M85 on GB the other day.

I have a polished stainless M85 with the three-inch barrel, made in 1995. It's a solid revolver, my favorite for carry duty when I tote a "steel wheel." I call it "a poor man's SP-101."

    Shotgun ammo for home defense

When I staged a 20 gauge, it was #4 buck. My 12 gauge SxS, when loaded (it isn't always), holds low-recoil 00 Buck.

On a typical day, are you usually carrying?

I can't legally carry at work, but I do when traveling to and from. At any other time that I have enough thread on my body to hold a gun, it is.

    Forum fun

I've been getting into classic-styled derringers lately. To satisfy my initial urge, I acquired locally a like-new, nickel-plated Davis in .32ACP. Later, to get to a more "authentic" size, I picked up a like-new Cobra, also nickel-plated, in .38 Special, with the "Long Bore" (3.5" barrel, I...

Phoenix Arms Pistol--Do you have one?

I found mine, purchased in 2009, to be a lot of fun to shoot, and dead-on reliable with good ammunition. I actually enjoy it more than either of my Ruger Mk-II models, which are almost "too easy." You get a real hammer, the slickest trigger on a gun in this price point, and a rear sight that can...

    I need a trap

I've used an archery target block with pretty good results.

    Give j-22 some love

I bought one in around 1987, on a whim at a gun show, for about $50. It's the nickeled version, with the forwaard/backward safety. Shot the hell out of it for a while after that using MiniMags, all I typically saw available locally back then. Never had a problem with those. During a run of...

What to do for dryfiring a .22 revolver?

You’re limited to 8 rounds, what’s your choice?

I've already been carrying eight rounds of 9mm in a Kel-Tec PF9. I also carry a second gun most of the time, usually a LCP-MAX. I'd continue with that (modified magazine, I guess) and/or carry the Kel-Tec's little sister, the P32, which also holds eight rounds.

    Gun in locked car

Depending on your locale, your answer on being in trouble criminally might be more clear than on being in trouble civilly. Just being in compliance with criminal law doesn't mean a civil court won't opine that you "could have done more to insure safety."

Florida bill could hand gun owners huge win, make the US a constitutional carry majority country

jdc1244 writes: The SCOTUS having not invalidated a law hardly sets the standard as the law being "constitutional." The SCOTUS has a never-ending job. After all, every law already invalidated by the SCOTUS was done so because the Court determined that it actually wasn't constitutional. Until...

Florida bill could hand gun owners huge win, make the US a constitutional carry majority country

I haven't read the bill text, nor any comprehensive summary of it. It's quite likely that it will not be "true constitutional carry" in that it won't extend to open carry, or that of long guns.

    Ruger LCP-II .380 ACP vs SCCY CPX-4 .380ACP

The SCCY is a belt gun. The Rugers are pocket-class guns, even the MAX. If you like the idea of the SCCY's capacity, but want to be assured you'll carry it with you a lot, go with the Ruger LCP-MAX. If you want .380 in a package bigger than the MAX and smaller than the SCCY, there's the...

Snap caps for dry firing a Rimfire revolver

I also use the #2 (yellow) drywall anchors. The rims will flatten, so rotate them around in the chambers like you would with a spent case. I have also manually cycled them through the magazines and actions of multiple firearms. I haven't tried them in a WMR. I expect they would be loose; the...

Ruger Wrangler versus Heritage Rough Rider

I'm an outlier. If I'm buying a single-action plinker, I want it to be kind of "western" in feel and operation. The Wrangler is not. Both of my HRR revolvers have four-click hammers and require the gate be opened to rotate the cylinderl; the cylinder also lines up with the chambers when doing...
