    Gun belts

Mine are from the Beltman and I wear one every day. I don't think I will live long enough to wear one out.

Holster descriptions, dont know where to start

JTQ's reference to Horseshoe Leather is spot on. This is the most comprehensive description of the various holster designs I have found. And the quality of Mr. Arratonian's holsters is worth the wait.

    Thinking about this 1911

grubbylads, while I do not have the model Sig you are contemplating, I have had numerous Sigs over the years and have a lot of confidence in Sig to produce a reliable handgun. If that was the model I wanted, I would buy it. My experience with the 3" 1911-format 45s has been mixed - I had 3...

    Berrys 30 carbine bullets??

I don't have any scientific facts to offer up, such as muzzle speed, but I load 110-grain Berry's with 14.0 grains of H110. The cartridges are accurate and cycle my M1 Carbines just fine. The fired cases are just fine, also, usually within 10 feet or so front right.

    M1 Carbine Mags that work

Mat, the Korean mags work well in my M1 carbines. I ran across them a few weeks ago at Wideners (out of stock now, as with most things related to firearms, ammo, reloading)and bought 10. The only mags I have had issues with have been "vintage" WWII-era mags, even after replacing the springs.

How many different kinds of powder do you have?

    Just 5; W231 for pistol rounds (9mm and 45 ACP), H322 for 223 Rem., 6.5 Grendel, 6.5x55 and 6.8 SPC; IMR 4064 for 30-30 and 308; H110 for 30 Carbine; and H1000 for 300 Win. Mag.

New to GA where to buy components?

You Georgia boys are making me homesick - grew up in Rome, lived in Buckhead 12 years and 13 more in Kennesaw (the town that adopted an ordinance requiring homeowners to possess a firearm). We used to say that if the Kennesaw Police stopped you, you would be asked if you have a gun - if the...

Powder Valley Has IMR Powder In Stock

Thanks for the tip! I checked a few days ago and Powder was sold out of most everything. I just ordered IMR 4064 and H 322. Both are very versitle and I use one or the other for all my rifle loads other than 300 Win Mag.

    Powder help

I use just 3 different powders for those calibers (except for 338 Lapua) and am getting some very accurate rounds. I use H322 for 223 Rem. and 6.5 Grendel; IMR 4064 for 308 Win. and 30-30; and H1000 for 300 Win. Mag. I have not loaded 338 Lapua but H1000 is a commonly used powder. Hodgdon's...

    223 Powder

My Hodgdon info (2011 Annual Manual) shows loads for 55 g. 223 Rem. with H4198: 19.0 grains for start and 21.0 grains max. The load data will vary somewhat, depending on the projectile you use

    I found gold today

Good find. I generally have to order my supplies on the Internet, as none of the local stores keep a dependable supply of anything in particular. Right now I think we reloaders are under Obama's radar.

    Quick RRA AR-15 range report

Very nice RRA. I have a 20" RRA with the same trigger, with a Springfield 4-14x40 scope. The trigger Is special, for sure.

    Optics for .223 question

My favorite scope for the AR-15 in 223 is the Springfield 4-14x40. This scope has not neen made in a few years but can still be found reasonably priced on ebay and is still guaranteed for life by Springfield. Calibrated for 223, this scope has an internal level bubble so it's easy to correct...

Looking for a good .223 Varmint / Target under $700 (street price)

I don't have a Weatherby but my Savage 12 BVSS wii shoot the groups you desire. I paid about $600 for it a few years ago (unscoped) and have a Nikon Monarch 6-24x44 scope on it. Last time I shot it at 200 yards, I had a 4-shot group of .5". That was a hand load with a 40 grain Hornady V-Max...

    Chiappa Legacy

The Chiappa is a replica chambered in 22lr. I have handled them at shows and they appear to be well made. If you wanted to practice using your M1 carbine in a cheaper to shoot caliber, I think this I would be just the ticket. I doubt the Chiappa 22LR parts would interchange with the M1...

What rifle do you shoot the most?

In volume, I shoot more 223 Rem. than anything else. While I have a couple of ARs in 223, the rifle that always goes to the range is a Savage model 12 in 223 that shoots very small groups at 200 yards with my hand loads.

    Accuracy of sporter enfield

Bought my oldest son a sporterized Enfield in 303, when he was 16. The first shot was then, and is now 25 years later, exceptionally accurate. The second shot is generally not accurate because the little rifle kicks so hard, no one really wants to pull the trigger the second time. :D

    Standing in a Gun Store

Congratulations on the Sako! I, too, am impressed with the history of the 6.55 X 55 round and wanted to reload it. I have a CZ 550 FS.

    lever action brands

My neighbor has a couple of Rossi lever in guns, one in 357 Mag and one in 45 Colt. I have handled and shot both and I think they are pretty darn nice. The fit and finish are good and the action is smooth. I have a Winchester and two Marlins but I would seriously consider a Rossi if I were in...
