I would like to point out that lock failure has only been documented on the lightweight 44 magnum smiths. In the heavier, lower-recoil guns, the odds the lock failing are probably about the same as you just dying on the spot from an aneurysm.

Get a pocketgun first because it's the most convenient to carry. Better to have an .380 in your pocket than a .357 in the drawer at home. So the p11 or the lcp(or sig p238, kahr p380, seecamp .380, micro eagle, ect.) Between the p11 and the lcp I'd go with the ruger, mainly because I'm a snob...
