Re: Board #3
How is board #3 doing? Have you decorated it for the season with a string of Christmas lights? Is Mrs. DIY_Guy still pleased to have it in the dining room?
I did buy a can of WD Specialist after this test to use as a general purpose rust inhibitor. A little harder to find this...
Here is another vote for the Simmons 22 MAG with AO. Decent rimfire scope for the money. I have a couple of them. The next step up cost wise is the Muller APV, also have a couple of those. I think you would be happy with either one
I would get the Maverick. 20 years from now when you need a part it will be easy to get. With the Stevens, parts are hard to come buy now, let alone in 20 years.
When you get to 200 yards and up with small diameter bullets is where better optics comes into play. With poor quality optics you will have to look for awhile to find the hole in the paper. In some conditions you may not see the hole at all. Light brightness, clouds, shadows, mirage, etc all...
While we are waiting for hostjunkies to show us his new toy, here are pictures of mine. Look familiar? Its hostjunkies old press with new parts. I bought it from him so that I can get my brother in law and nephew started on this hobby. Over the past few years I have been picking up a thing or...

I would rather have a barrel that shot lights out for 3000 rounds than one that shot crappy, but lasted forever because I loaded it to prevent wear
If you would be interested in selling that press when you buy a new one I would take it off your hands in as-is condition if the price was right. I am looking for a press for my brother in law and his sons to learn on
I agree with walkalong that 0.006 in. jump is way too long of a cartridge with that bullet. I bet the one that blew was jammed hard.
Another thing to check is to measure the diameter of the bullet with a 1 in. mic. Sometimes those plated bullets are a little generous in diameter.
Are they all...
loose noose, Wisconsin has a new law this fall. Rifle is allowed everywhere in the state now except where local laws prohibit it. The traditional "shotgun zones" are gone
When I do load development work with all unknowns I even use two shot groups after fouling shots. If they aren't less than an inch or so for two at a 100 yards it doesn't matter to me what follows.
