I"ve had good results with my Kimber Pro Mags 8rds. I do not know much on them but my experience and they have worked well so far.

I have a stainless Mil-Spec and its been really reliable. I have the 5" model and it's really nice to have "real" 1911 after owning this model my desire for the beaver tails and the other gadgets has certainly diminished. I don't think you'll regret buying a SA pistol either their customer...

.45acp in a SA 1911 SS Mil-Spec Govt. Though It is a toss up between the P01 in 9mm (Buffalo Bore 115 +p+), or the 638 .38 special +p Speer (Gold Dot)

Instead of the Hi-Cap I'd look at the Mil-Spec version. Parkerized and a stainless barrel.

SA Mil-Spec I really like my Mil-Spec. I have the Stainless version and I have no complaints. I like the fact that its basic but if I should choose I can get anything I want done to it and still be under their factory warranty. -Phil
