OK, OK!... I get it. Security Sixes rock.

Back in '76 or '7 Dad bought one from his MHP buddy. I shot it a good bit and me 'n Dad talked about me getting it "later" but somewhere it "went away" and Dad passed before I could get it. I got a KGP161 instead. While the KGP161 is a better revolver, the Security Six was Dad's and it would...

    .223 Powder

I've been gone awhile, but this sound like a good place to "restart". I used to use H335 and IMR4198, but about a while back a shooting friend told me about Benchmark, so I picked up a pound and tried it in my 788. Now I use it exclusively in both my 788's in .223, my 788 in .222 and my...

The only problem they had and I've NEVER seen it but SUPPOSEDLY the bolt would split if you loaded them too hat. ESP the 308's. Like I said, I've NEVER seen it happen and I've got 2, but in .222 and .223. Been around a couple in .308. I'd like to find one in 22-250, .243 and 308 just to finish...

New to me Remington Model 700 30-06 Question

30-06's only come in long action. Catridges of 308 size come in short action. I've got LOTTSA 700's in various models and they all shoot very well. You'll be very pleased I'm sure. RJ

    I need better steel targets

T1 (ammor plate) or AR400 are the 2 best choices. 1/2 inch minimum. The higher the AR number the more brittle the steel and the more likely it will be to break. The 300RUM won't even make a dent in either of these types of steel. Any "divots" should be filled with weld and ground flat, as any...

    shooting sticks

I use home made sticks for big game hunting as well as varmint hunting. I have 2 sets. One for use while sitting in a lawn chair (varmint hunting) and a shorter set for when I'm sitting on the ground. Wouldn't leave home without them. RJ

Remington Sendero 300 win mag question

I know there are "kits" available to change them over to DBM's but I know of no one that makes a clip that large. IMO, after 3-4 shots in rapid succesion you'll be able to cook breakfast on the barrel anyway. My 300RUM in Sendero SFII gets rather warm after just 3 shots and after #4 is too hot...

    Remington 700/7 User Thread

Howdy all! I'm new here to some of you, but I'm a regular on a couple other shooting/gun forums. ON other forums I'm just known as recoil junky, but this ste wouldn't let me use it. Here's my collection of Remingtons. Some 700's, a couple 788's and one 1917 Remington Enfield. L-R 700...
