    Rifle Explosion

I had a 17HMR mis-fire recently, the round sounded normal, but there was no reaction from the intended quarry. However, the next round would not fully chamber. On inspection the previous bullet was lodged just after the chamber. The case from the mis-fire was full of powder that had clumped...

    Accuracy improvement

The biggest improvement to my groups came after I researched the subject of Marksmanship. No criticsm intended on the marksmanship of others.

shortening a barrel and precision ?

I have a SYSS Varmint Special Ruger 10/22 with a carbon shrouded 12.5" VQ barrel which consistently shoots sub moa. So, I wouldn't expect any accuracy loss with a 11" barrel.

Nope, I'm culling vermin. Not for the pot.

    Rifle for long-ish range vermin

At present I shoot rabbits and the occasional fox with 22LR and 17HMR. However, I would like a centrefire (the rabbit shooting is not for the pot) for longer shots. No further than 300 yards as most of my shooting is done kneeling off shooting sticks, not prone or off a bipod. From what I...

Hi, first post on THR. :) I live in West Wales, UK and my hobby is shooting. Mainly rabbits and the occasional fox with 17HMR and 22LR. Sometime this year I plan to move on to centrefire for longer range. :scrutiny:
