I find that as well. Cfe doesnt really group too well towards the lower end of a given charge range. On a 1-10 scale 10 being max charge you usually need to run around an 8 of 10 to tighten up your groups.. hs6 is similar.. 3 days of ice cold rain still havent gotten to shoot, my ranges out back...
sorry for slow reply, been laid up. hit a tree doing 70 on a ktm .
Guns used:
p320 Xcompact , Scorpion evo 8", Evo K length , p365 , P365XL and and a p320 Xfive.
The reason I need to load these so short is due to the length of the bullet they are shorter than a gold dot. I can go...
yeah bud the 9mm. I never tried RMR's MPR jhps before but I've used many other RMR FMJ or JHP with good results. I figured hell I'll just grab 3k took 5 weeks to come but in these times you take what you can get. Previously I've been running Everglades Type 2 124gr JHP but those went up in...
I picked up 3k of these and geez these are gonna be loading short searching around I see anywhere from 4.0-4.5 to 4.5-5.3
These are quite short so the max oal I'd probably run would be 1.080 or maybe 1.050 which would give me a little more ass in the brass for lack of a better term.. What's a...
Yeah most likely over crimped or somthing. I use lee fcd myself religiously on .223 and .308 semi auto loads with zero problems, and these rounds feed in my other sigs but the bar sto barreled 229 hangs up when feeding them.
But I ran all 500 through my rcbs taper crimp with the seater backed...
guess I'll just run out a 14 rounds test batch, yes they are loaded fine, he uses my recipe my HS-6 and OAL recipe but the only difference is our crimping dies "well and die sets"
damnit I subscribed to the thread and got no messages about replies coming in. supposedly they are lee factory crimped, but they have a lip to the case rims and they keeps catching on the throat I think
I was given about 500 .40cal 180gr HST reloads "rmr sells pulled from time to time" the problem is my buddy factory crimped them with a lee die and my sig with barsto doesn't feed smoothly with anything lee factory crimped...
I always use a Taper crimp rcbs and it will then shoot/feed...
told me I could bring him in in 30 minutes so I think I'll just do that. I have been trying to get ahold of hm for almost 2hrs. supposedly he should be OKAY. apparently a small dachshund did this once before. I was told the craziest thing he every pulled out of an animal was a large dishtowel.
Geez, still haven't gotten to reload. There's a super stomach bug going around , we have 600 kid out of school "some schools were closed" and now the parents are getting it, and of course working at a damn bank they brought it to us >:( if I could move my reloading bench in the bathroom I'd prob...
haven't reloaded for 9mm in years, in fact the only 9mm firearms I have are car guns with factory ammo, so most my powders I have are on the slower end for pushing heavy grains in 40s & 45's
Forgot to post the gun, will be fired from an Evo pistol so that's about 8" of barrel which should gain me about +35-50 fps vs a standard handgun 4-5".
CFE Pistol is what I was planning on. I got a full 5 1lb jars of CFE Pistol , maybe 1/2 lb of HS-6 and a tiny bit of n320 "need to make a powdervalley order soon :-\"
I have 1000ct of everglades 124gr JHP, bullet length is .583 I think XTPs are .600~?
I'm trying to get a start/stop load using CFE Pistol. I found sparse XTP and Sierra data here and there that list 4.9-5.5, sound about right? Would like to get at least 1150 FPS
Just got them today, haven't had a chance to load them though it was wayyyy too windy today so I figured I'd start fresh with test loads in the mornin'..
I was thinking maybe 4.7-5.5 grains with these? they are .583 long
