    Shooting Pedersolis Bounty Pistol

I enjoyed your video. I sat back with a cup of coffee and got ready for the video to start. I nearly sprayed a mouthful of coffee on the computer screen when your new drone showed up... I thought that was great! What a contrast between the old and new technologies.

    The THR Walker Club

WestTex, Nice looking Walker! Have you been able to find the Walker Club thread to post your pictures on? I don't know why, but seeing your pictures makes me want to go out and get another Walker. I guess it is kind of like 'Spring fever' only "Walker Fever". Hopefully one of the...

Help with making electronic igniters, please

Have you thought about using those small Christmas lights for the ignition? Carefully remove the glass around the filament and you have it. They are only good for one ignition, but they work. I don't know the size limitations you are working with, but it might be made to fit your intended use.

    Percussion caps' life expectancy

I don't know about the color of the tins and when they changed. I can tell you that I am still shooting caps that are probably twenty plus years old with no problems. I store them in a dry environment and have never had any problems. I have Remington, RWS and CCI brands. I even had some old...

1861 Navy - Full length video

I enjoyed your video. I was impressed by the paper cartridges and how easily they loaded and the fast ignition. The other conical bullets were very impressive! I noticed there were some smoke streamers from what I would guess to be the lubed felt wads. I have never used the felt wads, so it...

    DANG! Another 3rd Gen 1860

I think the finish would hold up. Just don't use any caustic type cleaners. Soap and water would do just fine. I would probably use nylon bore brushes too instead of the bronze. I know of some plated guns owned by friends where the plating came off, but those were cartridge guns. They used...

    Rifle ID and Intro

It sure does look interesting. The patchbox is backwards from what you might normally see. The finial of the inlay is pointed toward the butt plate instead of the wrist of the rifle. Interesting piece.

ghost/halo sight for TC Hawken .50 cal

Try using contact cement to glue a washer onto the rear sight blade. See if that is close to what you want. Thompson also offered a tang sight for the Hawken.

    Springfield vs. Hawken

For me, Hawken and then the Springfield. Just to put your mind at ease, get the Hawken and send it to me. I will perform some extensive testing and let you know if it should be disposed of. I also offer a free disposal service. Once the disposition of the Hawken is determined, I will also...

    CVA Colonial Pistol Ramrod

I just measured my ramrod. OAL is 6 1/4" long, dia approx 7/32-1/4". The button on the end is 1/2" dia and 1/4" thick. The button is tapered, 1/2" X 1/4" for 1/4" length/ depth... half the distance of the full depth of the button. From there it is tapered down to not quite zero which is the dia...
