I can find plenty of ballistic calculators that give data for different rounds but they all assume the same zero for each round. I want a way to compare different rounds out of the same gun if I don't alter my sights.
Does anyone know of a ballistics calculator that will tell the ballistics of different rounds out of the same gun? As in... I sight my gun it with 150 grain round at 3000 fps zeroed at 100 yards then I switch to a 180 grain round at 2700 fps and want to know where the larger round will zero if...
Yeah, I wasn't looking at dumping tons of cash into this project. I may be better off getting an aftermarket wood stock made for a Rem. Heck, I might scrap the whole idea and look for a stock with maximum recoil reduction.
I was given a Remington 700 BDL stainless synthetic in 7mm RUM. I've always loved the look of stainless in a wood stock and the Winchester model 70 Featherweight stock looks so nice.
I'm wondering if it possible to fit my 700 in a Featherweight stock. Anyone ever heard of such a critter?
Never mind Barbara Walters or CNN info-babes, most of the media's liberal biased male reporters would have been crying like babies followed by a 3 part special series on how all guns should be destroyed.
With Federal's new Barnes TTSX 110 grain load .270 is the clear winner. It's within 1" of a .243 55gr.ballistic tip at 300 yards. I'm pretty happy with thant bustin p-dogs (unless you plan on eating 'em.) Switch gears to Winchester's XP3 150gr. and you've got a 300 yard Elk load. That EASILY...
I think you can never go wrong with Barnes bullets. That X mushroom really delivers a punch. Many hunting authors report the X bullet seeming to hit like a larger caliber. Core-locs will kill 'em just as dead but I like to know I'm using the most efficient round I can.
It seems to shoot pretty well. I did some testing with 5 different factory loads. 4 of them pretty much centered around the bullseye but the Remington 32gr's consistently hit about 1.25" left. They also produced the best group.
My buddies bought me a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .204 Ruger as a wedding present so I wanted to do something special to it. I decided to give Duracoat a try and painted it in ACU digital. Here's the results.
