I carry to protect myself, my family and those unable to protect themselves such as children or elderly. I will not protect ANY able bodied adult, that is their responsibility and theirs alone.
Low power loads in a pcc rarely cause extraction or ejection issues. I compete with a custom competition pcc in USPSA and with a Ruger PC Carbine in Steel Challenge. My 115 grain loads for Steel Challenge are at 825 FPS and run flawlessly. Those same loads run fine in my competition USPAS PCC...
I do it all the time and have for many many years. I interchange small pistol and small pistol magnum primers and don’t change any part my loads data. No difference at all in velocity or performance.
We shoot USPSA so we load a lot of 9mm. I use 95% range pickup brass, I don’t sort by head stamp and I don’t weigh my brass. I size with Lee carbide dies and I crimp with a Lee Carbide Factory Crimp Die. I don’t get any setback, my bullets stay put!
Hi KS Plinker, I replied to your DM in more detail but the short answer is that H4831 and H4831SC are the exact same powder and use the exact same load data. Same velocities and same accuracy. SC just stands for “short cut”, meaning the extrusions are cut shorter allowing for better metering in...
I like Fiocchi primers a lot. I have used them to load thousands of 9mm and .223 with zero issues. I’ve also used Ginex. They are slightly oversize compared to CCI, Winchester, Remington or Fiocchi but they always seat and fire.
I clearly didn’t ask for a photo of a page from the Hornady manual, I just asked for the minimum and maximum load for one specific powder and bullet. There were no copyright issues involved.
I’ve been using one of Jack’s loads since 1973, 57 grains of H4831 under 150 grain Nosler Partitions and magnum primers (except now I use 150 Accubonds). It has served me very well all these years.
Greetings. I just picked up two boxes of 145 grain Hornady .270 Win ELD-X bullets. None of my manuals list this projectile so I’m looking for some help. I always use H4831SC for all my .270 loads and I want to stay with it. Could someone provide me with the book minimum and max load for it? I’m...
I have to call BS on this. If what you are saying “really” happened to the barrel, one quick call to Ruger and they would have sent you a pre-paid return label and they would have quickly made it right. Once again, I cal BS!
I have no idea what you are talking about and you obviously don’t either. There is no “barrel liner” in the Ruger PC Carbine. It is a cold hammer forged one piece barrel. Get your facts correct before sharing your biases.
You have obviously never used proper products like Hornady One Shot Case Lube. It isn’t gummy, has zero effect on powder or primers, and works great. WD40 may be useful for some things but it has no use around a reloading bench or for use on firearms. It’s cheap and comes in a blue can, that’s...
Federal Auto Match used to be decent but it has become a garbage bulk pack now. We have constant low power loads that won’t cycle for crap. I find Remington Thunderbolt and Remington Golden bulk packs are far more reliable. CCI Blazer 525 round bulk is pretty much 100% reliable in all our semi...
I’ve loaded tens of thousands of 9mm, 45acp, 10mm, .357 mag and .38 special. I have never once trimmed a case because straight walled pistol cases don’t grow. FWIW, neither have any of competitive shooters in our gun club.
I’ve purchased several .45ACP Mec-Gar magazines for my RIA 1911 FS Tactical and they run flawlessly. I have also purchased additional RIA magazines and obviously they work perfectly as well.
