    9mm OAL

In the first five samples, the bullet diameter measures .356 above and below the grease groove. I've attached three photos showing the bullet at 1.050 (fully seated in gauge), 1.075, and 1.085. The bullet will not fully seat in the gauge until the OAL reaches 1.050 The bullets chamber...

    9mm OAL

The bullets measure consistently at .356 The Midway gauge will not totally seat the round until the OAL is appx 1.050. At appx 1.100 about 1/16th of an inch protrudes above the surface of the gauge.

    9mm OAL

I actually tried using bullets with crimp, no crimp, and crimp using a FCD. Made no difference in what the pistols would chamber. Interestingly, my Midway cartridge gauge for 9 mm would not seat this bullet until it reached an OAL of 1.050 or so.

    9mm OAL

Thanks to rfwobbly for showing me the way! As usual, the answer depends on the situation. The situation being what gun? In my case, I want to load for two 9mms - a PPS and a CZ75 PO1. And they are different in what they will chamber. I worked it out today - the max OAL for the Bull-X...

How to adjust Dillon powder/expander die

Some advice I got from Dillon Here's from information from Dillon I got on another forum - "Be sure you are flaring case mouths at least .010" larger than the sized, unflared case, and that you start with the measure at least 2/3 full. Throw 10-15 charges and dump them back before you begin...

    9mm OAL

I do follow - and thank you. When considering load data, is there any practical difference between LCN and LRN bullets? I find plenty of data on the LCN, less on the LRN - when looking at 125g bullets for the 9mm.

    9mm OAL

I tried to work up some 9mm loads today with a "rediscovered" box of Bull-X 125g LRN (that's been sitting on my shelf for 10 years) and W231. My problem is trying to find a good OAL. I tried a OAL of 1.100, but it failed to chamber by a good bit and I'm afraid to seat the bullet any deeper...

    Something strange with my scale...

I had a similar problem with my 15 year old Dillon powder scale. I had to nudge the scale each time to make it start. Once nudged, it was perfectly accurate. Dillon Customer Service recommended I clean the knife edges with alcohol and make sure there was no dust or grime. When that didn't...

    Redding Profile Crimp Die

I've been reloading .32 H&R Mag for a number of years using first a Lee carbide set then a Redding Titanium Carbide Set. I wasn't real happy with the crimps using either set, so I splurged and bought a Redding Profile Crimp Die. The instructions included with the Profile Die say: "Although...

    Redding Profile Crimp Die

I've been reloading straight wall revolver/pistol rounds for years using carbide three die sets from Lee and RCBS. I recently bought a Redding Profile Crimp Die for the .32 H&R Magnum. The directions recommend using a case lube.:( I don't want to start lubing straight wall cartridges...
