If you look at more modern guns: The AR type rifle or the KRISS V for example, you can see the bore becoming lower and lower to be more in line with your sholder/hands. On these weapons the only muzzle rise is basically from your body being pushed back (recoil) and being pivoted on the fulcrum...
I think it has to do with most "sniper" rifles were in hunting calibers during the Antis heyday, the mid-90's.
Im sure like the .50, the Laupua and cheytac chambered guns would have been made illegal if they had that chance. Now, if they bring up the legislation, they will just hurt their...
Well, I have had a resolution to this. BCM has offered me a full refund for the upper. I intend to order another BCM upper, just maybe not one with another TRX...
Pretty good for service, eh?
Gentlemen, first off BCM has been nothing but helpful. I think this is more of a TROY issue, I just went to BCM because I bought it as a set from them. Now that I see the mounting issue I am going to talk to BCM and see what they say.
Honestly, After the first issue with Troy and the canted...
Find a NDT shop. Anyone with a magnetic particle machine will have a degaussing machine with it. High end gun or engine shops may have them. That, or just keep shooting it. Impacts on magnetized steel reduce its effect over time.
2 wheels, Again Ive checked this. Also Troy's gas block sight has swivel mounts built in... kinda hard to miss.
W.E.G. Both BCM and TROY have pretty epic reputations both here and anywhere else you read about them. If I still had a lathe at home I could make this square easily, I figured...
Well, that gap is needed. I patiently set it perfectly, got it perfectly centered. Tightened the screws per Troy's intructions. 'bonked' it with my hand to simulate normal use and it settled right back into its bowed situation. So It looks like this rail requires the use of shims, or it or the...
I loosened the rail. I am still fiddling with it, but it looks like it requires a gap at the top, between the flattop and the top of the rail.
I googled "troy trx install how to" and got a arfcom thread about someone who put it on and pushed it against the reciever and got the same arc. They...
I would just like to add, thanks for the replies. Sorry if I seem short with some of my answers, I am just pissed about the rifle. You guys are helping me think objectively, and I appreciate it.
Justin, once again the problem was identical with 2 different sets of sights. The sights on the gun are troy SPLP bought as a set. I have verified they are the same height. The old problem with the sights was the rear was canted due to a bad bracket, which apperently was a known Troy issue. This...
Justin, the sights dont matter, And I dont have the tools to measure the angle, only the level to prove the 2 parts are on a different attitude.
Swiss- I put a proven set of sights from another gun on this one with the same issue. This is before I found the rail out of alignment.
Zero...
I emailed back and forth with one of their reps and did exactly what they said. RMA numbers, Detailed description, Hell, I even found the problem and marked it on the upper in pencil. Instead they pulled the comp and replaced the shims that come with the comp with a stock crush washer...
Hello folks.
Almost a year ago I bought a BCM upper assy. a 16 in. mid gas system with a Troy TRX free float rail. It arrived built by them.
Since then I have been troubleshooting. The upper shoots hard left and so low it was off the paper, beyond the elevation adjustment on the gun. It...
