We are going to have to give up something

I think that there are some antis who are legitimate believers in complete confiscation - and there are a lot of people who are in the anti camp right now because of this recent tragedy who are not. Those are the people we should consider - they want to do something to prevent this and they...

We'll have you fanatics to blame when the next AWB is permanent.

We are going to have to give up something

I think we should keep in mind that we are probably outnumbered, there is a pretty good chance that some sort of gun restrictions will come out of this (misguided though it may be). Gun restriction supporters have the best of intents but they see the world differently than us, most of them...

    PSL Polymer Stock Question

I just came across the poly stocks for sale at centerfire systems, see link below: http://centerfiresystems.com/stkdra.aspx Does anyone have experience with this specific stock? I'm curious what the length difference is between it and the original stock set. Are there any recommendations...

Places to shoot informally, not ranges, near Washington, DC

http://www.covecampground.com/ I live in Arlington and occasionally go there, its 3 plinking ranges, costs $ for parking your car, its cheaper on weekdays. You can bring whatever you want to shoot and a trashbag to bring it back - theres always a ton of crap that people have left there as...

    Bought an Armalite M-15

I think you'll be happy with it. I have an m15a4 as well that I picked up surplus from a Police Dept. a few years back. Mine is set up a bit more spartan then yours, though. What do you think of that AFG grip?

    PE-57

An amazing rifle, I'd love to own one. It's hard to appreciate until you see/handle one in person.

Dumbest thing you've seen at the range?

I've got a pretty good (scary) one. A few weeks ago at the range I had just gotten back to my shooting table from setting up some targets and a man who had been shooting with his son come up behind me - holding back the slide on his loaded pistol and asks if i can help him clear his jam. I...

    PSL Scope rubber eyepiece

Does anyone know where I could buy a replacement rubber eyepiece for the PSO-1 scope that the Romanian PSL's have on them? I've done a fair bit of searching online and I haven't been able to turn anything up. I've read mixed reviews of the usefulness of the eye-piece, but I want to try it...

Matech pop up rear sight recoil issue

My rear sight on my ar-15 has been giving me trouble lately...its a matech, ( like this one ) and the recoil of the first shot flips it up every time - very annoying. I bought it used, and it seems to be in good mechanical condition, no obvious wear and the spring looks fine as well. Has...

    1.5 MOA from a M39? Better than a K31?

I'm a huge fan of K31's and Finnish Nagants. I just had a chance to put about 60 rounds through each yesterday. My Finnish Nagant, a 28/30 (which is supposedly the most accurate of the Finn line - but I've never had a chance to compare it with a M39) shot very well. The K31 shot as...

Trade Makarov for a Taurus 85 revolver

Both are good guns. I've heard lots of people complain about Taurus, but I have a M85 revolver in stainless steel and have had absolutely zero problems with it. The Mak is a pretty nifty little pistol, definitely worth hanging on to. If you are patient, attentive, and lucky - you can get a...

What is the most interesting handgun you own?

Steyr Mannlicher M1901, not my photo - but definitely the strangest pistol I have.

Does this scope exist? (and other stuff)

Not sure if this is quite what you're interested in, but the Millet DMS-1 is supposed to be a pretty nice variable magnification optic, check out the thread at ar15.com http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=326527&page=5 It's 1-4x24 I believe.

    I'm a cadet now.

I went through 2 years of Army ROTC in 2006 and 2007, I decided not to contract and stopped at the MS II level. We spent most of our time with rubber duckies (full size hard rubber mock up of an m16) but about 2x a year while on FTX's we were able to do some actual live-fire. If you are...

    Travel thoughts-Maui.

Leaving your TV on in your hotel room throughout the day is a nifty trick that should deter most potential thieves. As far as autos go, I would avoid leaving any valuables in it if possible - if not, make sure they're out of sight!

    Precursor to Mosin Nagant?

This site has some great photos and descriptions of the murata http://members.shaw.ca/ursacki/muratat22pix.htm It is aesthetically similar to the mosin nagant, but it may be coincidence, each have their own unique design features. But at any rate, its a neat rifle that I'd love to own some day!

    Northern VA Ranges

The west side shooting range? I've shot there quite a bit and like it a lot. Last time I was there, back in September, the entire range was pretty shot up. It was a little tricky hanging targets up as the supports and wires were damaged. Has any maintenance been done on the range since then?

    Northern VA Ranges

This place seems to be more or less exactly what I was looking for, a few questions though. How is the range set up? (is there a range master, crowded sometimes, etc) Whats the farthest away I can set up something to shoot at? EDIT: sorry for the mix up, was on roommates account.

    A Possible Correlation?

It's almost certainly a coincidence. There are so many different factors that contribute to or detract from crime rates that it would be impossible to nail one down as a single cause.
