    Federal 9mm HST pulled bullets

Hey, I grew up watching those westerns too and never would have called loaded ammo a cartridge until I started reloading. Yep, they were always bullets back then. I have decided to go a little hot on some rounds to see what they look like since the HST bullet is usually used as a projectile...

Does Anyone Use A 270 Win.

I just love the wood on those old 1950 era Model 70 rifles. I have one in .220 Swift.

    Federal 9mm HST pulled bullets

Thank you for the information, but I am a little confused by it. I assume you meant to say "cartridges" when talking about the oal of 1.10 for the 124gr bullets and 1.12 for the 147gr bullets. Did you have factory Federal HST ammunition in both of those weights to measure in order to come up...

    Federal 9mm HST pulled bullets

I think the factory OAL is relevant since the manufacturer must feel it will work across a wide range of barrels. I have 3 different 9mm pistols so I don't try to optimize for any special pistol and think the factory OAL would be a good starting point. Although I would plunk all three during...

    Federal 9mm HST pulled bullets

I am getting ready to work up loads for some Federal 9mm HST 124gr pulled bullets that I got from RMR quite a while ago and wondered if anyone could share their experience with working up loads for this bullet. I would also like to know what the COL is for a factory round if anyone has one and...

    .40 S&W Gold Dot Bullets

Thanks Hope you didn't get wet going to the barn. The Gold Dots are pretty close to the HST as I suspected. I have the HST at about .640 but there is obvious variation when you have a HP with serrated petals to open up during expansion. Glad to see someone else has that CRS problem too...

180 gr. Sorry, thought I had that in the title.

    .40 S&W Gold Dot Bullets

Could someone please tell me the length of the subject bullet? I would like to compare it to the length of some Federal HST bullets, which I measure at 0.640 inches. Thanks.

    .40 S&W Compressed Load - Unique and 180 gr

Back when the bullet shortage was at it's worst I was able to buy some "pulled" .40 S&W bullets from Rocky Mtn. Reloading that were advertised as Federal HST 180gr. The majority were 180gr with a lot of other weights mixed in, but that is another story. I was wanting to load some of these...

    Goodbye W231/HP38?

Rare find I was shocked to see 6 one pound cans of HP-38 on the shelf of a little gun shop in central Illinois over the weekend. Bought 2 of them and left some for others who may be in worse shape than me. About $22 per pound, so they weren't holding you up on it. No Unique, Bullseye, 2400...

    Federal HST 180gr. bullets

Thank you for the reply. I was thinking around 1.120 to 1.125 so I will go with the 1.125. Once again, I appreciate you taking the time to measure and reply.

    Federal HST 180gr. bullets

I have some .40 S&W Federal HST 180 gr. bullets that I am going to use and would like to know if someone has a factory loaded cartridge with this bullet and can tell my what Federal is using for a COL on their factory rounds.

Pistol Powders: Which Ones Are You Seeing ?

Hodgdon CFE I went into a local Indianapolis store that specializes in reloading and asked if they had any powder. They said sure. How about some HP 38? When he stopped laughing he told me that he hadn't seen any of that or Win 231, Unique, or Bullseye in a year. They did have some of...

    Chronograph data on 9mm

Thanks for the data gentlemen. My primary computer is in the repair shop and I don't have access to my chrono data right now. I was running 4.7 gr of Unique with 124g Rainier FP bullets and am thinking of bumping up to 5.0 gr. Mostly shoot through my Browning High Power, but also through a...

    Chronograph data on 9mm

A lot of people seem to like 5.0 gr. of Unique for a 9mm load with 124 gr plated bullets, and I would like to see if some of you guys could share some Chrono data for this load. Thanks.
