I find I shoot fixed sight revolvers better if they are blued. The sights on stainless guns seem harder to see.

If you are looking for something less expensive and easily available, Mossberg shotguns work well for many left handers, once you get used to shotshells ejecting infront of your face.

I think the ban under clinton banned "military-type" weapons in the mid 90's. Then Bush 2 banned everything by Norinco a little later. Shotguns are not considered 'military" weapons for some obscure reason.

The ratchet on my year old Model 82 does seem a little rough, but it has not seemed to hurt reliability or accuracy. The gun does not seem to lock up as tight as some Smiths or Rugers I have seen, but it does not seem to make much difference on the target.
