    Knight's Armament SR-15 T&E Pre-Production

The KAC bolt and receiver extension are proprietary and are not compatible with the standard bolt/receiver extension. You may also notice that the extractor pivot pin is located further forward, and as such is not captured by the bolt carrier. For this reason they added the spring you see down...

    Knight's Armament SR-15 T&E Pre-Production

That's the buffer. A Colt carbine comes with an "H" buffer, but the mid-length+ gas system of the KAC works fine with a standard carbine weight buffer. There is no carry handle. There is a KAC flipup rear BUIS and the front BUIS is integral to the free-float rail system.

    Knight's Armament SR-15 T&E Pre-Production

This is a joke right? 2 failures at the end of a 3-day 1100+ round class, and failures that can not be duplicated after the fact, is hardly a "lemon".

    Knight's Armament SR-15 T&E Pre-Production

If two are shown, Colt is on left, KAC on right

I get a laugh out of "Desert Tan"

As many others have said, "tan" in general (whether called "desert tan", "flat dark earth" or whatever) actually blends in pretty well all over the place. On a personal level, my ARs are different colors so that I can easily spot which is which in the safe. 16" is tan, 11.5" is green, and...

Downsides to have a 11.5" AR Upper in a SHTF scenario?

I just don't see the point personally as I have other carbines that I would use in that case, but to each his own.

Downsides to have a 11.5" AR Upper in a SHTF scenario?

I'm curious, why the magnifier on an SBR?

    Many balisong/butterfly fans on THR?

I like them. I have two Benchmades, one a large tanto from the "old days" and one a small titanium-handled one with a pocket clip that I bought from them at SHOT 3 or 4 years ago. I keep meaning to sell the larger one. I'll try to post pics of them later today. ETA pic

Downsides to have a 11.5" AR Upper in a SHTF scenario?

I have two Colt 6933s and have had limited trigger time with them but have had no issues. I have a suppressor for one of them in processing with the ATF right now and hope to take receipt of the suppressor from my dealer in the next couple of weeks. Ammo selection is everything when you're...

.223 and Deer - I know not a good idea but....

I don't know about deer, but this pig was 60-70 lbs and dropped in her tracks to a 75 grain Black Hills fired from the rifle in the picture.

Can't afford to shoot the guns you have? If so, how do you justify buying more?

I guess I should be clear. I don't understand collecting at all, let alone collecting tools that you're not going to use. At least with stamps or coins you could claim "investment". Most of the guns I see people "collect" are going to do nothing but depreciate (NFA items notwithstanding)...

Can't afford to shoot the guns you have? If so, how do you justify buying more?

I solved this problem in the past by standardizing on .308, 9mm, and .22LR. Now my tastes have shifted and I'm looking to standardize on .45 ACP, 5.56mm, and .22LR. I am even toying with the idea of standardizing my manual of arms by having only 1911 and AR15 pattern firearms (with .22LR...

Any of you AR15 experts, I need your help

I don't know where you are getting your facts, but this is untrue. Rock River Arms started as a custom pistol builder, and the founders were former Les Baer employees.

Any of you AR15 experts, I need your help

Model 1 sales sells kits for people to build their own rifles on stripped lowers. It sounds like that's what your seller did; bought a PWA lower and a Model 1 kit and built it up. With the chrome bolt carrier, and assuming it's a chrome lined barrel, the complete Model 1 kit would cost $525...

Truck guns?? THR'ers, I request thy divine insight...

http://www.truckvault.com/seatvault.asp That is exactly what I've been looking for. Unfortunately I drive a Ford. :cuss: I don't currently keep any firearms in the truck as I work on school construction jobs and having a gun on a school campus is a no-no. However I'm about to change jobs...

Will you buy a New FN P90 or P2000?

I am not interested in either one. However I see guns as tools, and don't see either one of these as doing anything that guns currently in my safe don't do as well or better.

Which AR: Les Baer TRS or Wilson Combat Urban Tactical?

I'll also add my voice to the "overpriced" choir. Get yourself a Colt 6920 if you really want the best. Change out the parts as you need to, and do it yourself. It'll teach you a whole lot about the firearm that you're going to be using for self defense. For the life of me I still have...

    5.7x28mm why the fuss ?

As others have said, it's a combination of people being afraid they won't be able to ever get one again, the fact that it's the just now becoming available to regular folks. If what you look for in a firearm is a tool to fit a task, as I do, then the FN is likely not for you.
