    AA#9 for .357mag revolver/carbine combo?

'LilGun? Have you looked at that powder?

    lasercast/hard cast in carbine - .357mag?

I disagree. I use a stout load in the rifle that is around 1800fps without any major leading issues. I beleive they say they are fine out to about 2000fps without leading. If you are overly concerned you can get them with gas checks.

    lasercast/hard cast in carbine - .357mag?

I use Oregon Trail Laser cast in both my GP100 and my 1894CS - 20". For 158gr and up to 180gr I use 'lil gun powder for both loads. You won't be dissappointed.

Loading for .357mag carbine - opinions wanted

As mentioned at 158gr the advantages of "lil Gun are not clearly seen - but at 180gr - unbelievable.

What do you all think about the Marlin lever action chambered for 357/ 38?

It is a very nice leveraction. I prefer the Cowboy Special model with the octagonal barrel.

Savage 10 FP Tactical with HS precision stock 308

I have that exact rifle - it is a shooter out of the box. Last Friday I took a friend to the range - he couldn't believe we were hitting a 8" steel pig at 600 yards consistently. You couldn't even see it without the scope/spotting scope if you didn't know it was there. Load was: 175gr...

    Muzzlebrakes....?

If you are shooting at a crowded range and the benches are close together - the people next to you will probably not like you. It is almost disrespectful IMHO. Do they reduce recoil - good brakes will help considerably. Our local range officers generally frown on them unless it is on a...

    sorting brass by weight

Measure the brass on a scale to within IMHO .5 gr. But for 300 yards - this may be a wasted process unless for a benchrest comp.

Zero JHP vs Hornady XTP Bullets?

The 158gr XTP HP's and the 158gr XTP FP's are very nice and shoot very well. They are also very reasonable priced. (At least they were when I stocked up on them - haven't checked lately.)

    Does Tumbler brand matter?

All I have to add is that the old Frankfords are better than the newer ones that go flat up to the top - instead of curving in. Side by side my old Frankford cleaned brass way faster than my friends newer model.

    .357 Magnum bullet possibility?

First off I have never loaded those particular bullets - but plenty of Laser Cast 180gr bullets. I didn't see the overall length listed of that bullet - maybe I missed it? 'Lil Gun is my go to powder for 158gr and up in .357 magnum loads. Must use magnum primers or you won't get full burn...

savage 10 fcp vs remington 700 tactical

If you plan on modifying it with custom stock, barrel, etc - go Rem. The stock Savage with a HS Precision stock, or MCMillan from the factory will out shoot a Rem. Savage 1:10 twist, button rifled Remington 1:12 twist, hammer rifled. Savage wins the out of the box question, Remington...

    H335 for 308?

Velocity is about 100fps slower than Varget for 165gr and up.

    H335 for 308?

It was originally designed around the 5.56 - not the 7.62. Will it go BOOM - yes. Will it work great in a bolt gun - well?

    .357 loads

Oregon Trail laser casts work really well - 180gr. Also, I load Hornady XTP's 158 gr. Both a propelled by 'Lil Gun and magnum primers. For the 125gr Golden Sabers - I use Titegroup.

    Fill in the blank.

    600 yards. At a known location. Savage 10FCP .308. Handloads using 175gr Berger VLD's - 44.6gr Varget - CCI BR2 primers. 10X fixed power scope. :neener:
