    Question about carrying...in the bathroom?

I'm right handed so I remove gun/holster and put them into my left pant leg to the inside of my calf. This position gives me access to the gun in the unlikely event I would need it and there's no chance I will forget it as it has to be removed before I can pull up my trousers.

    Hiding spots for firearms

If it takes more than 20 seconds for you to reach from anywhere in your house it's a bad spot! That's why I always keep one on my person or close at hand.

what 1911 I'm lost and need some guidance

I'm partial to my Springfield Lightwieght Loaded but I don't see that as an option on the poll. :-)

    lima ohio gun store

Besides the box stores like Dunham's and MC Sports there's only a couple left. One is Defensive Resources 3590 1/2 Harding Hwy. There's another in a guys basement but he doesn't stock much, he does mostly orders but I don't recall the address.

    Smart, if "shifty" Wal-Mart Buying

Wouldn't work here as Walmart refuses to hold firearms or to let you pre-pay for one, it's first come first serve which means guys that are retired or work different shifts snatch them up before us regular folks get off work.

    A sad day!

Friday my favorite local gun store closed it's doors for the last time. It was a small 3 man operation that started up 3 years and 1 month ago. The current market being what it is makes it extremly hard for the little guy to keep going. I was there when they opened and have bought or traded a...

Bust luck for a couple boxes of 9mm

Doesn't cost me any extra time or money. The wife shops there every week. I also have a buddy that I've partnered up with so that when either he or I find ammo for a decent price we call the other and let them know. I found some Hornady Critical Duty at the monthly gun show for a decent...

Ruger has made it impossible to get through to customer service

I e-mailed them about the availabilty of the SR1911 Commander and it took 2 days to get a response due to the overwellming number of calls and e-mails they are recieving. Not all contacts are for warranty and that just makes it harder for guys like you to get through. IMO Ruger has had one of...

    Glock, Ruger, or S&W?

My personal preference would be the S&W M&P 1st, Ruger 2nd and the Glock 3rd. I've currently own a G26 (2nd one) and I have owned many other Glocks (19, 21, 30-2 and 36) and while they are dependable, none of them impress me in the area ergonomics. My fingers are too thick for G26 and even with...

I have a problem: Impulse buying and the Shield 9mm

Not a thing wrong with the 9mm. I traded it back to the guy I got it from because he was having regrets on letting it go and he had another gun I wanted in .45 acp. Alot of guys seem to be recoil sensitive when it comes to small guns in anything larger than 9mm but the .40 has not been an...

Finally, a voice of reason...from the government

I got the same response after I e-mailed him. Now if we can just get Sherrod Brown out of office we would be much better off!

Anyone else get a similar response?

I e-mailed him and he stated that he believes in and supports the 2nd amendment "but" (he flip flopped and basically said that) when things like Sandy Hook occur we need to review the rights and how they apply. :scrutiny:

I have a problem: Impulse buying and the Shield 9mm

Had the 9mm and got rid of it but I have the .40 hanging on my hip as I type this. It's a great gun very accurate for such a short barrel and very easy to conceal. Enjoy it, others will no doubt be tempting you with more cash than you paid to try and pry it from you. :)

"Classic" Movie Guns (just a fun discussion)

While I've never owned one I was intrigued by the S&W model 29 Clint Eastwood used in the Dirty Harry movies. Maybe some day I'll get around to adding one to the safe.

It just got very real in my home!

While the polititians are dragging their feet, here in Ohio Buckeye Firearms has announced a program to provide teachers who are interested, free tactical training. It's free of charge to the teacher but it cost $1000.00 each for the organization to provide so they are seeking donations from the...
