I have a strange fascination with Milsurps...

I would have agreed had I not fought against people that were dressed much poorer than that. If they have guns they can kill you.

What new for 2024 shotguns are you excited about?

Yup, in discussion with my son. He wants him to get better grades first.

What new for 2024 shotguns are you excited about?

My Grandson is hinting strongly that he wants a Browning AR wicked wing. He is doing really well with my A5 12 G. in trap. 19 and 22 on Tuesday. He just started a few weeks ago.

    New AR15 upper with issues

Nice. I went there shopping once. I was a truck driver and travelled and stayed at several bases in that area. Beautiful old towns.

    7.62x39 v. 7.62x51 short range wounding differences

I didn't really think you were but the though occurred to me that we don't know who we are helping and what they plan. I thought that point should be raised. Also I think your trolling because you and the fanboys clearly think the cartridges are equivalent. I suppose for your discussion the...

    New AR15 upper with issues

Good call. My German is pretty bad, but I spent a year there in 1968-69. Bad Kreuznach.

9mm AR - soot on my shoulder?

You should try a Black powder revolver.

    7.62x39 v. 7.62x51 short range wounding differences

I don't know what the OP is planning, and I regret contributing to this fanboy conversation. I wonder if a DA would look at posts to show intent. And the rest of us for aiding and abetting.

    7.62x39 v. 7.62x51 short range wounding differences

The weight of the rifle can be whatever you want. But an AK isn't much if any lighter than a M-14 and an AR in 308 is likely lighter and better balanced. Recoil would be a difference depending on the weapon and situation. Mainly matters in full auto which is why the 7.62x39 was invented. In semi...

    rock salt: Lethal or not

It might discourage a coyote, But I wouldn't use it on a critter that might kill you if you annoy it.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

Not on the list but an excellent point.

    7.62x39 v. 7.62x51 short range wounding differences

The reason for the 7.62x39 and 5.56 NATO over more powerful rounds was rate of fire. In semi auto there is no advantage to less powerful cartridge except less recoil. Plenty of people think pistol carbines are just as good too. I know the difference from actual combat and I value my life. But...

    7.62x39 v. 7.62x51 short range wounding differences

If I recall, Hatchcock used a Bolt action 30-06. On the other hand, one of my best friends was a sniper that did use a specialized M-14. You can read about the superiority of the 7.62 Nato over the 7.62x39 in the book Black Horse Riders. I was a gunner in Nam. No question that the 7.62 NATO is...

Help me understand... a 10lb rifle 'worth' it's weight in gold?

For some folks it's about the pride of owning the finest that money can buy. They are not the "cheapest that will get the job done" like some of us. It is also an investment gun. I knew a guy that collected fine shotguns used by English Royals. Not only to have the finest, but as an investment...

    .22 Rifle Accuracy

Another thing is the open sights. When I was a young man, I was pretty good with them if I remember right. But now it seems the light, my ability to focus and just about anything makes it really hard to shoot them well especially at longer ranges. It may not be a problem for you but probably a...

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

Any individual rifle in any mass produced brand can exceed your expectations or disappoint. Some more than others. A poll of experienced shooters is a good idea. Also you might want to be on equal footing with the guys you shoot with. Another reason to go CZ.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

I am a CZ fan, I shoot 452's in matches, but I have shot some 457s MTR and At-One. Both shot great. I have a 457 Lux but it needs a little testing and tuning. Some guys do well with a Tikka. Careful about buying a CZ. Thye tend to multiply if you are not careful. I have a Ruger American than...

    7.62x39 v. 7.62x51 short range wounding differences

See my picture. I liked the 7.62 NATO alot. That it is more lethal and more powerful should be without question.
