Congrats. I sent my forms in last week and they cashed my check on July 1. Now I wait and try to forget that my can is in jail. I just figure I'm getting a Christmas gift.
I love my P220. It is the pistol I could not afford after I fell in love with it. 8 years later I found a steal of a deal on a used one and snatched it up. I had to confess to the wife I bought it without checking because it was that good a deal. She forgave me.
congrats! I have a Beretta Mini Cougar 8045. I almost bought a Stoger as well. I decided to get the M&P Compact instead at the time. I already had the M&P Pro and they can use the same mags.
I have had a policy of 1000 rounds of factory ammo for every caliber I shoot except .22cal. I also have components for everything I reload to triple that. I keep at least 3 thousand of .22 rim-fire on hand. I have recently started shooting .308 so I only have 200 factory rounds, 1000 match...
Mine has been great. I shoot the hell out of it. My buddy has the laser on his and it has held zero pretty well. I have a Recluse holster and have painted the sights on it. My uncle just bought a Taurus .380 and one thing I did like on it was the slide hold open on the last round. Both...
I had a grandmother that took in every stray she found, got them healthy, and found them homes. I am not a trainer or expert in any way, but I have always had dogs around. I grew up in Miami and after hurricane Andrew we had 3.5 months where there was no power and martial law down south. I...
These are old pics with a tiny nikon I had on it until I bought the larger one, but they will do. It is a Mauser action with a surplus machine gun barrel that was cut down. This gun weighs in at 17 pounds without the scope! It is a blast to shoot. It takes a long time to heat this barrel up.
I have been in a couple of places this week just killing time. What I noticed everywhere was the abundance of .40 cal, 3030, & 3006. If I were in the market for a new pistol or rifle I might go with those calibers.
I had the same problem with some Extended capacity mags for my SIGP220. I just load the high caps with round nose and the standard cap with the hollow points.
I have put 500 rounds through a gun before I add it to my carry rotation. I will run 400 rounds of FMJ and then 100 rounds of HP defensive ammo. Not sure where I got this procedure from. It might have been my grandfather.
Hold.
I have had an AR & AK for years now. I also play in the 3 gun & IDPA action sports. I usually keep a certain inventory of mags, loaded ammo, & reloading components. I may curtail my practice sessions, but I can make it through the next year or so....
I gave in and bought into the mess. I walked into Wally world near me that carries reloading stuff and they were almost picked clean. I did buy a pound of powder and 1000 primers. Not marked up so I bought. I had just bought some Pmags from AIM because they had free shipping for Xmas two...
I'm just getting started but my first time out at 500 yards I was under a 5" group and I did not have the parallax set right on my scope. Now I have gotten a little better and I am under 3". I know the gun is better than that. My Mauser has a 20" barrel. I am shooting 168grn hand loads.
I was fortunate and did not have to pay for my Rockchucker. My father in law had one in the barn he gave me to start on. I was shooting IDPA and going through 800 rounds a month. It was slow, but I feel I learned a lot from doing my loads in batches. I would prep my brass in stages and...
Keep your eyes open on the for sale section for a good used single stage Rockchucker or something. I started on a Rockchucker and then moved on to a dillon 550 progressive. I read the ABC's of reloading, bought a book of load data and started slowly. I am very happy I started on a single...
Nikons are great. I have the 2-7 on my AR15 and got it for $100. I just bought a 6-18 mildot on midway for $324 on sale. Keep looking and you'll find one.
I have two loads I am playing with for my .308 right now. My gun has a 22 inch barrel and a 1 in 10 twist. I got them from a friend as a starting point......
The first has given me a group of .65" at 100 yards. At 500 it was about 12". The load is as follows: 168gr Sierra MK 46.0 gr...
Thanks! I am busy this weekend, but hope to get out next weekend and try a few more loads. I am going to look at building a table that is the same height and bring a stool to sit at a comfortable level as well. The chair bothered me the most. I just could not get comfortable. I think I...
