For less than your top dollar, the Ruger SR 1911 is a fine pistol. Mine has been flawless in operation and is more accurate than I am. The retail price i have seen lately is about $725.00

Scheel's in omaha also has the selection our friend moewadle has noted. This was also the case last Saturday. In Omaha, they limit handgun ammo to 200 rounds a customer.

I am not actively seeking another gun at this time either. Something may catch my interest, but I am pretty satisfied with what I have.

I was shooting Seller and Bellot 92gr FMJ.

I agree that it is a bit heavy, but the polymer weapons have a much sharper recoil. My LCP shoots ok, but its recoil is a handful. The strong spring and the weight of the PPK seems to make it a softer shooter for me.
