No loading a light smokeless in a NM3 is not safe. At the very least it will strech the frame, at the worst blow your gun up. I have read this and heard it from Jim Sepica.
StrawHat: I bought it new from CDNN. I could have rejected it when it came in, but it was the last Nickel Laramie in 45 Colt that they had and at $789 which was $100 better then anyone else and most people wanted $1200 I couldn't turn it down.
BCRider: Beretta bought Uberti. Some of the...
No your not a wuss. I have a Scandium 340 that I bought 4-6 years ago. I can hit what I am aiming at, but I can only shoot about 20 rds before my wrist is trashed.
As to shooting a 45 or 357 without hearing protection, its different when you have the adrenaline pumping. You just don't...
Nope I plan on shooting the crap out of it. Since I like my original NM3 Russian so much I don't want to damge it, which is why I bought this one. I guess I just wanted to be the one to put the scratches in. I don't know Nickel well enough either to know if the clouding is more then an astetic...

At first I was like wow you paid alot, but I guess that is the price now. I have a 340PD that I paid $520. Your are right it doesn't seam to snap up, but more slam back into my hand. I can shoot about 20 full powered loads and then my wrist is done for the day, but that being said I am...
I bought a 45 Laramie in Nickel from CDNN for $7--. Most of it looks good, but there is a little gouge in it and some of the barrel has hazy spots on it. I was thinking of sending it back to Beretta, but was going to post some pics on this board to see if I was being too picky. Overall I like it...
Ask if the finish is Parkerised (greyish green phospate?)or blued. If it is blued then it is a Greek return that came from CMP. I think I paid $425-50 for my CMP Greek return.
"When the hammer is put on "half-cock" as is recommended by the manufacturer for safety, the cylinder is free to rotate. Whenever I set it on the shooting table the cylinder rotates as the handle settles to the table surface. For some reasoon it always disconcerts me to watch it happen. When you...
