    New Dillon 550b - lube

I called today at work and waited on hold about 40 minutes. The person answering the phone was very nice and helpful. Said my hearing was way better than his and that it is more than likely just the ram rubbing on the aluminum base and not to be concerned about it. It will probably go away...

    New Dillon 550b - lube

The set screw is all the way in and it made the noise before I even put the shell pate on.

    New Dillon 550b - lube

Thanks for all of the replies. I shot a video of it on my phone and uploaded it to YouTube to try and capture the sound and it worked. It is nosier than the sound in the video, but you will get the idea. http://youtu.be/-7fvZPWUwlA If you watch the HD version, you can kind of see streaks in...

    New Dillon 550b - lube

I did add 30 weight oil to the ram but it still made a rasping dragging sound. I just isn't smooth as butter like some that I have seen in some stores. I was trying to determine if this is normal on a new 550b press due to the surfaces needing to wear in.

    New Dillon 550b - lube

I don't want to give the impression that it is broke. The ram is smooth but is just making the raspy sound.

    New Dillon 550b - lube

I finally broke down and bought a Dillon 550b. I originally purchased the Lee Classic Cast Turret and will not be getting rid of it, I just got very frustrated with the priming system and 4 pulls per round. It appears the ram has some lube from the factory, but I'm not sure how much. The...

    Montana Gold Bullets

Can you elaborate on the on the price? When ever I compare PD to MG, I think the PD's are much cheaper. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing, but they just didn't compare when I checked prices.

    Leading with 45 ACP

I have an adjustable charge bar that I forgot about, I'll give it a try to get it at 5.0 grains. Thanks for the ideas.

    Leading with 45 ACP

Thanks, I thought I might have to play with the load some more. Yes, the leading is in the beginning of the barrel, near the chamber. I'm using a Lee Auto Disk and I think it goes from 4.8 grains and 5.2 grains for the next larger hole. I know I couldn't get it to to to 5.0 grains.

    Leading with 45 ACP

Can someone please post some pictures of what light leading looks like? I'm new to reloading the 45 ACP. I have a full size 1911 and it seemed to have quite a bit of leading, but I really don't have anything to compare it to. Can someone post some pictures of light leading and heaving...

Should I buy this Remington Model 700

They just started selling rifles at the Wal-Mart near me and while they do have the Rem 700s in a lot of calibers, non are exactly what I want and they are $400 plus tax (7% or so). I'm a recoil pussy right now, and I really want a 6.5x55 Swede for my deer rifle. I got to shoot a friends...

Should I buy this Remington Model 700

I'll probably buy it and make payments on it for a few months. I got to shoot a friends 22-250 and I had a lot of fun. So, I'll probably enjoy shooting this. Thanks for all of the replies. It is giving me the confidence to say yes.

Should I buy this Remington Model 700

I should have said that I dont see any rust, and the barrel looks good to me but I'm not an expert. The end of the barrel doesnt look rusty in person, just a little banged up.

Should I buy this Remington Model 700

I have a friend that inherited a Remington Model 700 in 22-250. From the barrel markings it looks like this rifle is from 1968, there is no external floor plate on the magazine, and with the safety on the bolt doesn't move. I tried to take the best pictures i could of the barrel rifling...

Missouri Bullet 200 gr SWC 45 ACP bullet question

Well I finally went ahead and ordered 1k of the Bullseye #1. The only part that sucked, is that I live in Missouri so I have to pay tax. It wasn't much, but pennies matter when reloading.....at least to me. He should open a different company in KS just for Missouri people. :D

Missouri Bullet 200 gr SWC 45 ACP bullet question

I'm confused on which 45 ACP bullet to get from Missouri Bullet. I'm using 4.8 grains of HP38 in a full size 1911 and I'm not sure if I should buy the Bullseye #1 at Brinell 12 or the IDP #1 at Brinell 18. I'm leaning towards the Bullseye #1, but of course I'm worried about leading. I've...

    357 Mag Squib

Alright I need to figure out if I just screwed up, or is there an actual problem. Fired off one of my new reloads for 357 mag. I was using 12.5 grains of Accurate #9, 158 grain LSWC bullte, and a Wolf small pistol primer. The round got stuck just after entering the barrel and it appeared...

    help with 357 magnum

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I rewatched some youtube videos of Ammosmith and realized I was setting the crimp die up wrong. So I decided to start over. I added some more flair to the case and I don't seem to be getting lead/lube shavings. I also did what zxcvbob suggested and got...

    help with 357 magnum

I'm confused what the FCD is for on this caliber. What is the most popular method? Just seat with no crimp and use the FCD to add the crimp or not use the FCD at all and seat and crimp in one step. I'm looking for the most consistency. I'm using a 4 hole turret, so I have the space for...

    help with 357 magnum

I'm making some practice rounds getting my bullet seating and crimp established before actually reloading. I'm using a Lee Classic Cast Turret and the Lee 4 die set and 158 grain lead SWC. What do you guys think of these pictures? I have tried to put the least amount of flair on the case...
