Does .45 live up to the hype?

When I did my research from firefight data, one stop shots, lethality and all of the other data bases I could find. I came up with 45 being superior to 9mm but only by about 1-2%. I went with 9mm because I can carry more rounds which more than negated the 1-2%. What I found was that really...

    Neat vintage reloading gear

Oh and I forgot my Herters powder trickler. A lot of my stuff came from my grandfather so a lot of 40s to 60s era stuff.

    Neat vintage reloading gear

I have an old Herters press that I used from the 50s but changed it out in the late 80s for a RCBS Rockchucker 2 press. I got tired of messing with the adapter because the Herter press doesn't have industry standard threads for dies. I have an old Lyman all orange powder measure I still use, I...

Thoughts on why I have a single stage and turret presses

What I have got most out of this thread is since I can keep up with my shooting needs with my RCBS Rock Chucker II, I am not shooting enough. :)

Poll - What type of reloading press do you use primarily based on round count?

I do it all on a single stage RCBS rockchucker 2, because it is all I have. Has done many thousands over the years but I like the process of reloading so I am OK with going slow.

    Priming on the press...?

I have done priming on the press for many years but when I got a hand primer it made things easier. If you want to do it on the press I see no issue but if you want things to go a little smoother without having to place a primer in the little cup every time, I say get a hand priming tool. I...

Manurhin MR 73 vs Korth vs S&W 27-2

I don't know if it is still applicable but I was on the list 4 months or so when I got the call if I wanted to purchase the one I have. You have to call one of the Beretta galleries to get on the list. (assuming there is a list, I don't know if they filled the initial rush and you can pick one...

Manurhin MR 73 vs Korth vs S&W 27-2

Raymond Sasia, De Gaulle’s chief bodyguard, underwent training at the U.S. FBI Academy. The GIGN had been using S&W revolvers, but they had failed to hold up to the 150 rounds of .357 daily. During the GIGN testing, the MR73 fired 170,000 rounds and was still going strong when the testing was...

Manurhin MR 73 vs Korth vs S&W 27-2

I have a new MR73 and it is excellent. I did a lot of research before I laid down my money and the issues always were from a friend of a friend who knew a guy whose roommate had an issue or someone shooting some L33T ammo and factory evaluations were citing plugged barrels. If there was a...

Ultimate 357 magnum revolver if you were going to have ONE?

Those were stock photos but this one isn't. The trigger and the feel on this is something to be experienced. This thing is way more accurate than I am. My short review is WOW!

Any here shooting reloads from stock Glock barrrels?

I remember the early 90s that there were some cases of lead reloads destroying the barrels of some of the 9mm pistols. On examination they were shooting soft lead, they were sized too big and they were doing mag dumps and really heated things up. The barrels were examined and found lead that...

Ultimate 357 magnum revolver if you were going to have ONE?

Not a S&W clone. They use really high grade carbon steel to make them. Hammer forge the barrel around the rifling, meaning the rifling is smooth because it wasn't cut. The cylinders are finished by a cold burnishing technique that hard faces the cylinders There is a hammer spring-weight...

    Your Pet Loads 9mm Plated

5.1 grn AA#2 with 115 grn rn. Funny how times change, when I tried different loads it worked the best but it was a middle of the road load. Look in the books today and it is a hot load. I ran up to 5.9 grn originally and the next place it was going to work out as accurate load was 6.1 but I...

Ultimate 357 magnum revolver if you were going to have ONE?

It is a stock photo, but I have done a lot of research on them and hope to have one in my hands soon, I am on a waiting list. I don't worry about having my revolver and my lever gun shoot the same ammo. I love 45/70 and 30/30 in a lever gun and I don't want to carry around a BFR. If I am...

My Glock 17 really loves 5.1 grains of AA#2 with a 115gr RN.

    Most RELIABLE 9mm handgun?

My two for the list is a second gen Glock 17 that I bought new in the early 90s. Probably about 7K rounds through it without an issue. I have had a couple of failure to lock into battery but they were both because of issues with ammo. I would also put the Walther PPQ M1 in there as well...

    Digital scale , $250 budget...recommendations please .

Am I the only one using the old tech? This isn't mine but looks identical to mine. It says $14 on the box but I think the price has gone up over the years. :) Seriously though, this is what I use.

    Loading 9mm

I did testing with different loads and I found that 5.1 grains of AA#2 work great in my Glock and are the most accurate. I have not tested a ton of powders though, still working on that.
