    Our Easter Celebration

Today was our 2nd. annual Easter Egg shoot. It was a fun afternoon. We were the only folks there. Donna shot her Beretta 9mm carbine and I went with my MAK 90 and a S&W Model 15 .38 and a Ruger Redhawk .44 mag. My wife is a crack shot with that little Beretta. We hard boiled half of the eggs...

    NEF 45-70 action?

Below are my two NEF .45-70's. The Buffalo Rifle and Handi Rifle. I have put many 100's of rounds through them including level 3 loads and they function flawlessly. However, I may need a shoulder replacement soon, LOL! I also have a .38-55. These are great rifles and wickedly accurate. Stay with...

    Car Shoot

My wife and I spent the day at the Westwood Gun Club at a car shoot sponsored by the North East Shooter's Forum. Great time and big fun. Here are a couple of "after" photos.

    45-70

I have an H&R Buffalo Rifle and I love it. It is very strong and accurate and the trigger is quite good. The Marlin is undoubtedly a much better hunting rifle, but for just plain old fun shooting the H&R is great. Highly recommended.

    Cody Firearms Museum

I just got back last night from my vacation. We spent 3 days in Cody Wyoming, 3 days in Yellowstone, 3 days on Jackson Lake in the Grand Tetons and 2 days in Jackson Hole. I cannot even begin to describe how breathtakingly beautiful these places are. Right off the bat we got a 2 day pass to...

    CZ 452 range report

This rifle is a whole new experience for me. I have not been a rifle guy. Most of my rifles are military derivatives that were purchased with some SHTF or home defense scenario in mind and are equipped with either iron sights or some form of red dot. I have had little or no experience with...

    Mosin Nagants...what to expect

I was shooting my M44 this last weekend with the 203 gr ammo. Pretty stiff recoil compared to the lighter stuff and also a big BANG, but darn fun to shoot. I find that mine shoots fine with the bayonet closed although others get better results with bayonet open. I think it would make a fine...

    cx4 storm

I got my wife a 9mm cx4 and put a Trophy Red Dot on it. I put a couple of hundred rounds through it before I gave it to her. Not a glitch. Last Sunday we took it too the range for a little Easter celebration. She was popping colored Easter eggs at 50 yards no problem and this was her second time...

    Favorite Snubby Choice

I have a 342 that I carry every day so I guess that makes it my favorite. For me it is not really about the design, but more the fact that I have the 342 and I love it. I have heard all of the varied arguments for and against each of the 3 designs and frankly I would carry any of the 3 designs...

    Para Problems!

    Para Problems!

So on Friday 1/26 I purchased a new Para Ordnance SSP 19911 full size. On Saturday I took it to the range and put 125 rds through it. It functioned flawlessly. It was really a great gun to shoot. It pointed very naturally, great trigger and neddless to say, way more accurate then me. When I got...

    Rediscovering the classic .38

I have an old 15-3 that is quite simply the best shooting gun that I own. I bought it used for $200 and I would not take double or even triple for it. It is a gem. Sweet double action trigger and the recoil is so light that it almost feels like shooting a .22. It must be imbued with the soul of...
