A reply from my Senator Re: Holder

Both my senators are on record as saying they will vote against Holder's confirmation. Not sure exactly how DeMint will vote. Note that his letter stopped just short of saying he will vote against Holder's confirmation. Don't think it will matter much, even Coburn says he thinks Holder will...

    Peeved at improper handling...

I'd be more concerned that my safety is threatened by the fact that these guys are only armed with shotguns and would not be in a position to keep pirates well away from my ship.

Ignorance does abound. One of my favorite quotes and my sig line on another board:

Research shows gun shows have no affect

With closing the 'gun show loophole' on the agenda of the incoming Congress and President, gun owners need to be aware of a recent study from the University of Michigan and University of Maryland that finds gun shows do not affect murder or suicide rates. Arguments based in fact trump those of...

New gun owner with OC/CCW questions and concerns

I don't want to hijack this young man's thread into an open-carry/concealed debate. I don't care how other people carry. I don't depend on knuckleheads walking around OC in Wallyworld for my safety. So far as the OP's question. Get to know your state law. You can find a synopsis of all state...

New gun owner with OC/CCW questions and concerns

If I'm a perp and I am about to rob or wreek mayhem in a business and I see someone open-carrying, step #1 is to walk up behind him and pop him in the back of the head. RIP, he was a patriotic, pro-gun, card carryin' patriot-- but a dead one.:)

    Incident regarding trespassing/poaching

IMHO it's simply not worth placing your life in jeopardy, nor taking a life over a deer hunting spot.

New gun owner with OC/CCW questions and concerns

I'm as pro-gun as anyone, but a guy open-carrying in Walmart bothers me. I don't know the guy and I don't know if he is a threat or not. I can live with it, but carrying in a setting where you know it will upset folks and cause you unnecessary delays with managers, police etc is not a good idea...

    Which 9mm for ccw?

If I could only have one 9mm, it would be a G19. My most frequent carry gun is a G27 ... the .40 cal sub-compact. It's no bigger than the G26 and packs more punch. I also have a Sig 229 in .357. A great shooter, but too heavy for me for an everyday carry gun.

    Temporary range deafness

I'd be concerned that my hearing protection has a problem and check it out before using it again. I have tinnitis from shooting without hearing protection when I was young. An audiologist told me that just one exposure to a loud noise can damage the ear nerves and cause it. It's usually...

Which, if any, firearm for a Motor Home

If you are advocating a more maneuverable gun, then I guess shotties are out and one must use a snubbie. Not! So far as I am concerned, the main difference in a MH and your stick home is that the walls in your MH provide poor cover for you. If you want to survive a gun fight, you'd best take...

Which, if any, firearm for a Motor Home

Why is your weapon choice any different in a motorhome than your home or anywhere else? I spend a lot of time in an RV and I always have a 12 ga pump, a rifle and 2 or 3 pistols. For a person who is not gun oriented, a 12 ga pump is probably the best choice in any kind of home. And a good...
