    Levels of bolt action rifles

My 788 shoots as well as my Kimber Longmaster classic. I have never had an issue with the 788. But had a few with the Kimber.

What is your "nearly perfect" cartridge?

I have been shooting .308 Win since 1967. I own 4 and have never wished I had more rifle while hunting.

    A.b.c. Always be carrying!!!

I live in a pretty crime free area, and carrying around home seemed silly. A month ago I had a heart attack and bypass surgery. I was shocked at how helpless I felt while walking around town for rehab. I started carrying a cane and .380 to ward off feral cats and other unwanted pests.

has the old 30/30 died or dying?

I own a couple of 94s and a 64. The 94s have never been fired by me and the 64 (32 Win Sp) hasn't been shot since the 1960s. I have too many other rifles that do the job better. A 760 is more effective for me for short range.

Largest "common" animal that a pack of coyotes will attack?

If you can't hunt them, can you call a government trapper? They trap here quite a bit.

    Pulled over while CCW

We are not required to have any permit to exercise the US Constitution. I have been armed every time that I have been pulled over. I have never mentioned it, and most cops here assume you are armed.

    Proper Aging of Big Game

Season here starts on Nov. 1. We wash them out and hang them in the shop with the hide on. Might be a couple of days or sometime in January before we get to them. We bring them into a warmer area a day or two to thaw before we start to process them.

    70's Era Wingmaster 870 Woes

Maybe there is crud under the JAMB that holds the shells back. (Couldn't help myself, current and active smartass).

    Mule Deer Migration

Interesting and good footage. The mulies around here migrate from the sugar beets to the corn, then into the alfalfa.

It is much easier when the animal puts on the brakes. Pepper spray makes the bear pull the E-Brake.

Bear speculation threads. My attitude on bears is much different than most on here. To approximate a charging bear and the target it presents, try taking a volleyball and having a buddy throw it to you as fast as possible from 25 feet. Include at least one hop on rough ground. After you find it...

You must lead a very good life. I can think of about 1,000 things more important than those two. *I guess there were 4, I got bored after the first two and did not finish.
