Just purchased a new Mauser m18 in 6.5 Creedmoor

No but I’m about to, ordering one soon. Mauser is known for quality and recent reviews have stated that this model delivers well beyond its price point. Additionally, ballistic tables have well established the 6.5 Creedmoor to be “essentially unmatched” in its class - based on a simple matter of...

    Anyone used gunsnammo.com for a C&R purchase?

Pat Burns Pat is 100% I picked up an m39 months ago from Pat... nice, nice rifle. Anything is possible, however, as my stock cracked upon firing it. This could have happened to ANY m39 from ANYWHERE and is no fault of the seller. My guess, is that it was put into new wood by the Finns...

Help ID - old .22 cal rifle

Jim, Thanks! Good info... to bad it wasn't something worth playing with, oh well. B

Help ID - old .22 cal rifle

JohnBT, OK, that may be why I thought there was a Belgium connection with the proof mark. Thanks. I was assuming it was a .22 caliber simply because it has a "22" stamped beneath the barrel and it looks to be of that bore diameter. I'm really bummed that it's missing some action pieces...

Mosins .... 1942, 1943 ... how to tell if they are shootable?

Headspace! All good advice but I just want to add to the issue of headspace... ALWAYS check it when acquiring a new milsurp, any kind, from anywhere!!! Most everything else can be verified by careful visual inspection, using common sense. Even my "worst" Mosins are shootable, even...

Help ID - old .22 cal rifle

I think it's a Browning based on proof marks... If anyone here can help or point me to a site that specializes in such, I certainly would appreciate it. I have tried Browning Collectors Assoc. & FN Historical Society but have gotten no follow-up from them. It's an old rifle from family...

Stinger, I have heard similar opinions and yes, it does make sense. I think that FLR would probably be overkill and undue stress on the brass. I guess practical application of the real thing will be the only true test. Until then, I want to at least weigh all options. Thanks for the reply...

    Midway price increase

Shop, compare, order... "Shop, compare, order..." yes, I couldn't agree more but Widener's usually ends up winning that one. NOTHING is free. Anyone offering "free shipping" is padding their prices. If the net result is acceptable, so be it - I welcome the convenience of calculating the...

    Newbie Reloader

Your Bench The one thing I will chime in on here is the importance of the bench. One of the few things in life I did right the very first time was my reloading bench. Simply put, the heavier, the better! You will appreciate the steadiness of a good heavy bench every time you pull the press...

    K31 Swiss

As I'm fast becoming disgusted with the prices in the surplus ammo market, I'm gearing up to start reloading for my K31 (and other) rifles... reading a lot, visiting the forums, etc. I have an RCBS die set (yes, I know, not as good for the K31 as the Redding). For now, I'm not going to get...
