Head of Moms Demand Action defines "assault weapon" as 10+ rounds fired in 1 minute

I saw a 10 year old girl hold roughly 4 MOA during the rapid fire section on an Appleseed AQT with a single shot, beak action rifle. That is 10 (well) aimed shots in 65 seconds.

Riterd General McChrystal weighs in on the AWB...

Disgraced former General Mcchrystal did such a good job controlling weapons in Afghanistan, where he had tens of thousands of America's best troops and even more from NATO - he is basically an expert on the subject.

Is a sling a good idea for a HD long gun?

Not all slingsare created equally. A carrying strap doesn't add a lot in my opinion. The modern two point slings keep the rifle tight to your body, get the rifle in and out of action fast for hands free use, make it easier to use the rifle one handed, aid in retention, and are a shooting aid...

Is a sling a good idea for a HD long gun?

A carry strap, GI sling, or 1907 sling will get in the way. A good, modern 2 point sling will be beneficial. I suggest the Ares Husky. The VCAS and VTAC are also highly regarded.

When You’re Falsely Accused of a Gun Crime – 12 Things You Need to Know

I am a criminal defense lawyer in Missouri. I can assure that many courts most assuredly do that. Procedurally, it is incredibly difficult to deal with bond restrictions that everyone in a classroom would recognize as unconstitutional. I can name 5 judges off the top of my head that require...

    Sling Suggestion : AR-15

Ares is awesome. Best modern 2 point, in my opinion.

    Holographic Red Dot for SKS

I'm not necessarily recommending these, because I don't own any of them, but if you want an inexpensive optic, the ones to check out seem to be: Vortex SPARC http://www.amazon.com/Vortex-SPARC-Red-Dot-Scope/dp/B0038VG5UC Vortex Strikefire...

    PSA or BCM?

I have a PSA. It is a pretty damn good rifle and reliable. BCM is a better rifle. The resale will be better. I don't think BCM is that much better than PSA, but it is better. PSA is also slow.

40S&W Major Power Factor loads 170 grain LSWC, Missouri Bullet

Thanks for the help. I shoot a lot of lead, so I will keep an eye out for that other Lyman manual.

40S&W Major Power Factor loads 170 grain LSWC, Missouri Bullet

Thank you gentlemen. I used the Lyman data for 175 last night to load up some test rounds, but the more I look around the net, the less good I feel about them. I'll look into Number 7. The loads are for an xD 5.25"

40S&W Major Power Factor loads 170 grain LSWC, Missouri Bullet

I seem to have found a black hole in my 4 reloading manuals. I have about a thousand 170 grain LSWC from MBC. I can't find any data on that weight of bullet in Lyman, Hornady, Hodgdon, or Sierra manuals. I've got 231, Auto Comp, Titegroup, VV N320, and Bullseye. I'm trying to get the...

    Hard cast vs: fmj/plated

Missouri Bullet Company lead is great. I use the 185 and 200 grain LSWC in 45 The 125 round and 147 Flat Points for 9mm and the 125 for 38 special

For God's sakes, why flathead screws?

They catch less on clothing, and it is easy to improvise a screw driver. Sometimes, the rim of the cartridge will work.

Glued To The Bench--a growing trend?

Reasons that I Shoot From A Bench (sometimes) 1. Sighting in the rifle 2. Developing handloads 3. The range does not allow me to use field positions (virtually every rifle range I have been to) 4. A way to eliminate variables to work on a specific technique: i.e. trigger control, breath...

    Walther PPQ/P99 long slide

I'd buy one, but I don't expect Walther will ever make it. I definitely want a PPQ Compact

    Ria .45 acp

I have the full size Tactical model. I have 4,000 rounds downrange. 3,800 of those are lead semi-wadcutter reloads. The rest are hollow points. Took about 100 rounds for it to smooth itself out. Shoots fantastic.

    g19 vs Walther 99

This link shows several pictures comparing the PPQ and G19 in size http://glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18340277&postcount=37

    g19 vs Walther 99

The two guns are virtually identical in size. Were seriously talking a couple tenths of an inch at most in any direction. I think the PPQ is like one-hundredth of an inch wider or something because of the slide lock lever (but actually looks and feels slimmer).

    g19 vs Walther 99

If you want a SA/DA gun, then the Walther P99AS is the only horse in the race (and it is pretty damned nice anyway). Between a Glock 19 and Walther PPQ, I chose the PPQ. I think the argument in some ways boils down to this: The PPQ is the better gun, but the Glock has better availability for...
