A sad story. You are so right SSN VET, the City of Detroit is a shining example of the complete failure of Johnson's "Great Society". The city government is plaqued by nepotism and corruption.
I agree with the previous poster, looks like the springfield freebies. Not anything you'd want for concealment. My XD 45 came with the holster and mag carrier.
I picked up a G30 about the same time. I am thoroughly impressed with this handgun. Perceived recoil from my perspective is roughly half that of any 1911 I have fired.
I admit that it's not the slimest gal around, but what a great little .45.;)
If you do decide to go with the grip reduction please post some pics. I'd really like to see some examples of good reduction work, most everything I've seen looks like some 12 year old with a blow torch and a beltsander went to town on a somebodys glock.
Thanks jeff-10, I was just getting ready to post the exact same question. This thread has been very helpful. By the way DHart, you post the best pics I've ever seen. I hope you don't mind but a couple of your pics have graced my computer desktop. :D
Llama 1911
Owned one several years ago. I traded a great Taurus .357 mag for it. Long story short, I traded a good gun for a true P.O.S. Hands down the Llama was the worst handgun I've ever owned. Many many ftf and fte. That being said. If you look on the 1911 fourm you will find some...
I currently have two 1911's, one full size Springfield Loaded, and a Kimber tactical pro II. I also have a S&W Mod. 19 and a Mod. 37; all of which I carry from time to time. But more often than not I choose the Kimber or the Mod. 37. I use to have a SIG P239 in .40 which I never really warmed...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. Went the to gunshop today with every intention of leaving with an H&K or a SIG 225. Long story short, no SIG 225, and no matter how hard I tried the H&K's just didn't feel comfortable. So I left with a Springfield Loaded stainless. No matter how hard I try...
I need some input. I'm getting rid of my SIG 239 in .40; I know it's a favorite of many, but neither the caliber or gun thrill me. I love my Kimber and carry it often but sometimes I just prefer the option of carrying something that offers double action. Any thoughts?
